presenting the new lesson - Goodmorning maam abe!

PRAYER
Oh my God, I offer you all my thoughts, words, and action; and I beseech you to give me your
grace that I may not offend you this day, but may faithfully serve you and do your holy will in all
things. Amen.

CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
Say present if I call your name.
-Yes, Ma’am!

REVIEW

Before we proceed to our new lesson, let us have a short review. Who can recall our lesson
yesterday?

-Very good its all about force!

B. Establishing the purpose for the MOTIVATION

lesson
The teacher will present a picture of a stop watch and a man running.
1. What do you think the kid doing?
2. What kind of exercise the man and the kid doing?
3. Do you think whats the use of the stop watch?
C. Presenting examples/instances of Presentation/Discussion:
the new lesson Presenting video about the topic.
https://youtu.be/OuehNbiYisw?si=6DDPZo6rWt4p4ykZ

The teacher will discuss the difference of distance, time, and speed.
1. Speed- the measuring distance and time. The rate at which an object travels a
certain distance.
Ex. Measuring Speed - speed is measured with the use of devices like the ff;
- Speedometer
- Radar Guns
- Pedometer

2. Distance - is the space between two points that tells you how far something
travels from where it starts to where it ends.
Ex. Measuring Distance - distance is commonly measured with the use of the
following tools or devices.
-Ruler and Meterstick
- Tape Measure
- Odometer
- Measuring Wheel
- Laser Distance Measurer

3. Time - time helps you know when things happen. It tells you not only the exact moment when
something take place, but also how long it lasts.
Ex. Measuring Time
-clocks and watches
- stopwatch

D. Discussing new concepts and Relationship of Distance,Time, Speed

practicing new skills #1 - the distance a moving object travels depends on how fast it goes, or its speed.
Speed is calculated by dividing the total distance traveled by the time taken to travel the distance,
which is often expressed as
speed(S) =Distance(D)
Time (T)
Steps on how to calculate the speed.
1. Understand the Units - make sure that the units for distance and time relevant.
2. Identify Known Values - know the values for distance and time.
3. Plug in the Values - Insert the known values into the speed formula:
Speed(S) =Distance(D)
Time (T)
4. Perform the Calculation - to calculate the speed divide the value to distance by the value of
time.
5. Interpret the Result - the resulting value is the speed of the object. If the distance is in meters
and the time is in seconds, the speed will be in meters per second (m/s).

Example ;
Suppose you know a vehicle has traveled a distance of 150 meters in 30 seconds.
Given values: distance =150meters
Time = 30seconds
Insert the given values into the speed formula. Then, divide.
Speed(S)= 150 meters
30 seconds
Speed(S)= 5 m
S
In this example, the car’s speed is 5 meters per second.

E. Discussing new concepts and Activity Proper:

practicing new skills #2 Setting Standards
Distribution of group card
The pupils will divided into 2 groups
Each group will perform the given task

Let’s Dig Deeper

Materials
a. a small toy car
b. Measuring tape
c. Stopwatch or timer
d. Flat smooth surface
e. Pen and paper

Procedure
Setting Up the Field Track
1. Place the meter stick or measuring taper on a flat surface to create a straight path for your
object to travel.
2. Position the stopwatch or timer nearby.
3. Choose a starting point and an ending point along the meter stick or measuring tape.
Make sure the distance between these points is easily measurable.
4. Measure and record the distance in meters m or centimeters cm.

Measuring time
1. Place the toy car at the starting point.
2. Start the stopwatch or timer as you release or push the car, and let it travel to the
endpoint.
3. Stop the timer as soon as the car reasches ther end point.
4. Record the time taken in seconds for the car to travel the distance.

Calculating Speed
1. Use the formula Speed s = Distance d / time t to calculate the speed of the car during
trial 1.
2. Make sure that your units are consistent. If you measured the distance in centimeters,
convert it first to meters diving the value by 100 before using it in formula..
3. Conduct at least 2 or more trials, rolling the same object along the same path.
4. In your notebook, record the distance and time. Then, calculate the speed for each trial.

Trial Time(second) Distance(meters) Speed(m/s)

F. Developing Mastery (leads to Analysis/Discussion:

formative assessment)  What Strategy did we do in our activity earlier ?
 What materials did we use in the group activity?
 How can you calculate the meter per second?
- We can calculate the meter per second by calculating the speed using the formula.
 What is the importance of your group activity?
-Through this activity we may able to realize the importance of knowing how to get the
meter per second.

G. Finding practical application of Application

concepts and skills in daily living The teacher will give the ff. Questions:
 What do you call the space between two points that tells you how far something
travel?
Answer: Distance
 To measure _____ we use hours, minutes, and seconds.
Answer: Time
 It shows how fast something moves or how quickly it covers a distance
Answer : Speed
H. Making generalization and Generalization:
abstractions about the lesson  Again what is Distance?
-the space between two points that tells you how far something travels from where it
starts to where it ends.
 How can we measure the distance?
-by the use of meter stick and tape measure.

Very good it looks like everyone remember our lesson.
