Skill 1: Personality
Definition of personality skills: Personal skills are abilities that help
people positively interact with one another. Sometimes called
interpersonal skills or people skills, personal skills are soft skills.
Personal skills help employees interact with customers.
Relevance of personality sikills: Personality development
grooms an individual and helps him make a mark of his/her own.
Personality development goes a long way in reducing stress and
conflicts. Personality development helps you develop a positive attitude
in life.
Current experience/performance of personality
skill: I am effectively communicating with my classmates and students
who come from different nation and nationalities. We respect each
other. I have heard some politicians speak negatively.Those politicians
focus on their own benefits, but they don't care about their people and
another nation and nationalities. I don't care what they said and I focus
on the real world.
Set goal: achieve positively interact with one another by
working on my growth mindset, making better decisions, becoming
more mindful, increasing my willpower, ignoring my limitations,
manage stress effectively, becoming more resilient,
reading more and read often, master the art of conflict resolution,
becoming more proactive, Confidence and get along with myself.
How I will achieve the goal: I will achieve the goal by makig a plan, by
thinking deeply, making decision carefuly. If suddenly happen a
problem to me; I will decide when, where and why do it. In our life we
have seen much problems, but their damage is solved by our
personality skills.
Situation
At one monday morning we were waited at Secha, because one of
our group member did not come from chamo campus. At that time I
went to teahouse to drink tea. Then my group members left me and I
didn't know the office of finance.
Task
I wanted go to the finance office, but I did not know the way to it.
Action
I called to one of my group members and then I asked him to tell me
the way to the office. I was deciding to go to the office of finance at
that time.
Result
I reached to finance office after twenty minutes, but my group
members were angried and they asked me why I was lating.
Reflection
I felt sorry for my group members, but in our life journey like this
problem happening to many people, so I accept my problem and I told
them I didn't do again another time. I felt proud for reaching to finance
office after twenty minutes.
Skill 2: leadership
Leadership skills are the strengths and abilities individuals demonstrate
that help to oversee processes, guide initiatives and steer their
employees toward the achievement of goals.
Leadership skills are an essential component in positioning executives
to make thoughtful decisions about their organization's mission and
goals, and properly allocate resources to achieve those directives.
Valuable leadership skills include the ability to delegate, inspire and
communicate effectively. Other leadership traits include honesty,
confidence, commitment and creativity.
Relevance of leadership skills: leadership skills are an essential
component of all success equations, whether on a personal,
professional, or academic level. Leadership skills are one of the
most flexible or soft skills that employers pay special attention to and
look for in job applicants
Good leader are fight their lack of confidence, identify top leadership
skills, maximise their strengths, dare to be different and never stop
acquiring good leadership skills.
Current experience/performance of leadership skill: l
lost much time by seeing kana TV and other social media programs
before six months, but I have performed my tasks effectively since 2015
E.C. l always study hard all my courses and sometimes I have done
practical attachment individual assignment. So I scored good grade
most of coures, because I studied hard day and night.
Set goal: become an effective or a good leader.
How I will achieve the goal: I will achieve the goal by thinking
strategically, building better relationships, accepting
responsibility, developing confidence and presence, practice
active listening skills, becoming more adaptable, Promoting
change, reflecting and learning from failure, be open
contructive critisism, increasing my emotional intelligence,
Setting a good example, knowing my limits and working around
them, building a strong team, knowing
my team’s strengths and weaknesses, Putting the team in the
right structure, setting expectations and goals, be a coach and
mentor, providing positive feedback, and addressing my poor
performers.
I am not sometimes using my time by planning and one day our
internarional 2 teacher test us, but I got bad result. After that I
decide to make a plan and create time schedule, then I have
read all courses carefully at day and night.
Situation
In one year I was a leader of youth league at my school. The
youth league has many members; and on Thuesday I told them
to pay the monthly payment. One student was said to me I did
not pay the monthly payment.
Task
As the leader of the league, my task was making all
members of youth league to pay the monthly payment,
and to increase the members of the league.
Action
I told them the objective of the youth league to all
members of the league, and to the student who was
saying I did not pay the monthly payment on
Wednesday. I was deciding all members of the league
should pay the monthly payment, and I told
them to pay the monthly payment.
Result
All members of the youth league were understanding the
objective of the league, the members of the league were
increased, and at the end all members of the league
could pay their monthly payment.
Reflect
I felt sorry for the members of the youth league, because
of I told them to pay the monthly payment before I told
them the objective of the youth league. I felt proud for
collecting the monthly payment. I felt happy because all
members of the youth league were paying the monthly
payment on Thursday.
Skill:3 problem-solving
Definition: problem-solving skills are the ability to
identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and
implement the best solutions. An employee with good
problem-solving skills is both a self-starter and a
collaborative teammate; they are proactive in
understanding the root of a problem and work with
others to consider a wide range of solutions before
deciding how to move forward.
Relevance of problem-solving: Problem-
solving enables us to identify and exploit opportunities in
the environment and exert (some level of) control over
the future. Problem solving skills and the problem-solving
process are a critical part of daily life both as individuals
and organizations.
When students practice problem solving consistently,
they can develop better social and
situational awareness. They will also learn to manage
time properly and develop patience. Students who learn
to solve problems from childhood are curious,
resourceful, and determined.
Current exprience/performance of
problem-solving: I can solve problems that faces to
me and other people recently. problems can happen in
many people and in an 8, but we can
reduce or control the degree of affecting us. If we can
reduce or control a problem in time, then we will save
our money and time. If we know the cause, effect and
how to reduce or control it, then we will develop the skill
of problem solving. I have solved much problem for many
years.
Set goal: become an effective problem solver, by
knowing the causes and effects of the problem.
How I will achieve the goal: I will achieve the goal by
asking the right questions that will act as a guide to
coming up with proper solutions, having confidence to
solve the problem, knowing the cause and effect of the
problem, looking at things in different perspectives and
angles and to develop alternative options keeping a cool
head when dealing with more pressing and becoming
critical thinker.
Situation
One day I was playing with my friends in front of block
seven at Chamo campus and one student who came from
Amara region and then he said us,TDF
and Oneg Shene are terrorists. There was one student
who came from Oromia region and then there was
disagreement between them.
Task
I needed to make agreement between the students who
came from Oromia and Amhara regions.
Action
I told them it was not good to talk about political affairs
at univesity and it was an unethical. I decided to create
peace between students and I told them said apologize
each other at that time.
Result
We did agreement between the students, and the
problem was solved by us. our target was solved at that
time. We knew the cause of the problem, and we
managed the disagreement between the students.
Reflect
They felt sorry for us, so we should accept the diversity
between us. I felt proud for agreementing between the
students at that time. I felt happy about
the agreement between, but I felt stressed because they
could rise like this problem.
