Hello everyone, we’re team 3.
Our team has 6 members: Anh Thơ, Khánh Hà,
Xuân Ngọc, Trúc Quỳnh, Minh Thư, Bảo Trân. We will now provide a talk on the
issue of air pollution. "Air pollution" is a term that is common to all people in the
world. A physical, biological or chemical change to the air in the atmosphere can
be referred to as pollution, more specifically: air pollution is a negative change of
the components present in the host air. Mainly due to smoke, dust, vapors or
foreign gases being introduced into the air, the emission of odors reduces visibility,
causes climate change and adversely affects living organisms and the natural
environment. Gas always has bad effects on our lives. Toxic gases, dust and fumes
enter the atmosphere and make it difficult for plants, animals and humans to
survive. We can also see some examples of the results of air pollution happening
around us such as global warming, acid rain and ozone layer depletion. So what are
the causes of air pollution? The burning of fossil fuels is one of the major
contributors to air pollution. Fossil fuels include: coal, petroleum and gasoline.
Those fuels are used in electric power generation or transportation. The amount of
fossil fuels used by humans is represented by high CO2 emissions. Along with
nitrogen oxides, the burning of fossil fuels has released a large number of harmful
chemicals into the atmosphere. Industrial emissions are also a cause of air
pollution. Industrial activities every day release large quantities of several
pollutants that affect air quality more than we can imagine. It is impossible not to
mention transportation, a major cause of air pollution in big cities, and more and
more cars are on the road. When a car burns gasoline, it releases pollutants in the
air, which are as harmful as smoking 10 cigarettes a day. The increasing
phenomenon of climate change not only increases forest fires but also increases air
pollution. Wildfires produce smoke and ash, which make the air murky, making it
hard for people to breathe. And from those factors have caused extremely serious
consequences affecting our environment. The air pollution had a disturbing effect
on people, animals and the enviroment. Specific to people health, it damaged our
respiratory system seriously. It makes some risk diseases such as lung cancer,
heart- related diseases, liver damage,….according to statistics, there had about 7
milion people died because of some diseases involve respiratory. With wild
animals, it is harmful for their health too, animals can have the problem the same
as people. It also makes some plants unable to bear fruit and lose their leaves. The
air pollution impacted to enviroment by reduce vision, hamper sunlight, harm the
forest. It was cause of greenhouses and dimate change. beside, each year we lost
about 225 milion dollar for damage caused by air pollution. Knowing those
harmful effects, we should have solutions to decrease air pollution in the
environment. Basic solutions to limit air pollution and its heavy consequences. The
first is planting trees, greening hills and mountains to absorb CO2 as well as toxic
substances. Prioritize using public transport, and reduce emissions every day.
Treating exhaust gas before discharging it into the environment. Equally important
is to propagate and mobilize people to understand and be more aware of the
harmful effects of air pollution. equipment that saves electricity, does not release
toxic substances into the environment. Eliminate fossil fuels and replace with eco-
friendly and sustainable biofuels. Not only that, we need to reduce energy
consumption to reduce emissions or greenhouse gas emissions every day.
