Present Perfect tense

Form:
has/ have + past participle
Uses:
1. Actions that started in the past and still going on in the present.
Ex: I have been a teacher for 13 years.
2. Actions that happened in the past but still have an effect in the present.
Ex: I have broken my arm. I really can’t write.
3. When actions are more important than their time.
Ex: Tom has had an accident.
4. For personal experiences.
Ex: I have never driven a car.
She has gained a lot of weight.
I’ve read three books so far.
5. For achievements.
Ex: Tom has walked on the moon.

Fill in “for” or “since”:


1. I have lived in this village ---------------- I was born.
