Disclaimer
Instagram now has over 1 billion active users. So, it should be no problem to build a successful
Instagram site. To earn money on Instagram you only need a mobile phone. Of course, an
internet access would not be bad either, but I think that is not too big a problem. You don't
necessarily need >10k followers. Already with a few hundred followers you can earn your first
money. I have personally been in contact with some sites that have earned their first Money
with less than 100 followers alone! This is because about 72% of the users buy products. Of
course, not all 72% would buy the product you might sell later, but it proves that Instagram is
not just for looking at memes.
To make money you have to sell something. Whether it's your own product or a product you
find strong and want to resell is irrelevant. With the right strategy you can quickly generate
thousands of followers. So, you don't have to wait forever for the perfect moment to become
successful on Instagram. With a business account you have the possibility to look into your
insights. In it, you can analyze what kind of contributions are going better and much more.
You can create story highlights that your followers can view at any time. This means you don't
have to upload all stories more often and can save them. They also help to make your site
more understandable to others.
You also have the possibility to build up partnerships with other sites in your niche and help
each other out.
It's important to know the "why?" of your plan. This “why” could be many things. For example,
because you want to help other people, because you want to build something, because you
enjoy it, etc. But the most important thing about your why is that you are not doing it for the
money. Because if you do it just to wait for the breakthrough and want to get rich, I'm afraid I
have to disappoint you, then you won't achieve much. People want added value and things
that actually serve their purpose. So I advise you to quickly change your why from "I want
money" to "I want to provide value." That your community is happy with what you offer them
is important, because they build trust and through trust you gain loyal and honest followers.
This does not mean that you cannot demand money for your hard work. It only means that
you should offer quality and therefore you can demand money for it. Nobody wants to work
hard for nothing and in the end, it doesn't help.
If you are wondering why you need loyal followers, I can tell you that they are very important
for your account. Through them you get a better engagement. This means that your account
can grow organically much faster. If you have many loyal followers, it will be easier for you to
become one of the top accounts in your niche because you will get a real commitment.
You will also be able to sell a lot more of a product than if you only have fake followers and
nobody is really interested in your site. Another reason for a loyal community is that your site
has a name. If someone asks you for a shoutout, you can demand more than usual, because
your followers are real and don't just give it away. Of course you have to prove that to them,
but that should be more of a small problem.
Name
Before you start, you should choose a suitable name. A suitable name is one that is not
complicated and stays in your head. It's best not to use numbers or names that are too long.
For example, if you want to create an account about sports cars, give yourself a name that
has to do with cars: carexpert. If this name is already taken, you have to refine it with
characters: car.expert or car_expert. Again, do not use too many characters.
Subniche
In any case, you should be aware of your subject matter. Think about it before you create an
account. Once you have found a subject area, however, this is not quite enough. You need a
very specific sub niche. (More on this under "How you grow organically" / "Stay in a subniche“)
Biography
Your biography should be easy and quick to understand. Nobody reads your biography if there
is just a boring text. Keep it short and above all: Every user must know directly what your
account is about. For this I would like to give you a small example of how it can be done:
Logo
Your logo should be creative, but easily recognizable. So don't just throw in any pictures. How
you can create your logo is explained in the section "How to create high quality posts".
However, if you want it to be professional, I recommend www.Fiverr.com. On this page you
can easily find someone you want to have your logo created by and get examples from them.
If you like the style, you can have a logo created for about $5.
Now we come to probably the most important part of this e-book, how you grow organically.
There are many ways to get followers. However, not all of them are very useful. And as you
read in the previous section, it is very important to build a loyal community.
The algorithm
What you should do at all times is to behave like a natural user. Of course, Instagram does
not want fake accounts and punishes this behavior accordingly. If you get punished, you will
not be able to reach as many people as before. This hurts your growth. It is not something you
need to pay attention to right now. Just behave normally (don't link too many pictures at once,
don't send too much copied text to others, don't follow too many at once, etc.) and you won't
have problems.
Your contributions
With every contribution you publish, you reach many people. To get these people on your site
and make them follow you, you have to give them a reason. The reason should be quality and
added value. As you can see, everything always comes down to the same goal, which is
adding value. So always upload relevant articles. How do you know that your posts are
relevant? You can tell by three simple things:
If you don't know exactly what is meant by assignable: Your posts should always be roughly
about the same topic, so Instagram can assign you to a range (More about this in the next
point).
I still have a small tip: design strong and eye-catching headlines to arouse interest.
You should also upload 1-4 posts every day to reach as many people as possible. If you upload
more, you offer too much added value. If others go to Instagram and see a new picture of you
every time, they'll stamp it as spam and think that you'd rather upload more than good pictures.
Whether you upload 1 or 4 images per day is up to you, but it is important that you keep the
rhythm. If you decide to upload 4 posts, you have to do it every day. Loyal followers are waiting
for one of your posts and will be disappointed if nothing more comes. That's why I advise you
to start with one post per day and eventually increase to two. It would be best to upload your
posts almost always at the same time.
Stay in a subniche
You should choose a specific subject area, because Instagram classifies all accounts into
areas. There are hundreds of areas like business, personal development, lifestyle, cars,
fitness and many more. In order to be placed in one of these areas (and you want to be placed
in one of them to get more coverage), you need to make it clear to Instagram which one you
belong in. So you must not deviate from your actual topic. When you have found a topic you
want your posts to be about, you need to focus on a deeper topic area.
Example: You have chosen the topic "Cars". However, there are many different cars. You look
for a sub niche, namely sports cars. There are also many more. You have to go even deeper.
For example, you could upload contributions about Ferrari.
Stories
The "story" function is underestimated by many and simply not used. However, they are
enormous growth spurt for your account. If someone looks at your stories a few times, they
will always be suggested at the beginning. This is exactly what you want to achieve with each
of your followers. You want them to see every post and every story you write.
If you want to achieve the best possible result, I recommend that you make a story every 3
hours. However, you have to bring quality and not just upload any garbage.
To reach even more people with your story, you can write several hashtags, make them black
and place them in the corner. You can do the same with a location.
EG Groups
Engagement groups are groups with many people who also have an Instagram page in your
niche. These groups are there to generate more activity in your posts. There are many different
ways that such a group can work. But what is the same for all groups is that you like, save and
comment on other posts and the same is done for you. So it is a win-win situation. The hardest
part is to find someone who is in a group himself and adds you. It's best to be in several groups
at once to get as many activities on your account as possible.
The best way to get into one of these groups is to ask other accounts in your niche if they are
in a group. If they are, you can politely ask them if it would be possible for you to join as well.
If you are already in a group, you can trade your group with other groups. This means you
offer your group to someone and in return you get his. Then you both have one more group
each.

Shoutouts
There are different ways to get shoutouts. There is the classical way S4S (Shoutout for
Shoutout), then there is S4M (Shoutout for Money) and S4C (Shoutout for Content).
S4S: If you exchange a Shoutout for a Shoutout it is important to inform yourself about this
account. The account should be about your size, otherwise S4S would be unfair to you. Have
a screenshot of the impressions sent to you so that you can be sure that this shoutout is worth
something. It is also important that the account is in the same niche, otherwise the shoutout
is unnecessary. Make sure that you agree on some rules beforehand. For example which post
you should take, which text you should write, where you should move what, etc.
S4M: This way you pay someone else to upload a shoutout for your account. The cost of this
shoutout depends on how big the account of the other person is. Of course they have to set
the price, but you can negotiate a little bit if the price is too high. Again, the two above
mentioned hints apply before you send the money.
S4C: This way you get a shoutout for creating high quality posts or stories for someone else.
Of course you can also create logos, story highlight covers or other stuff. And again, the two
hints above apply.

Insights
Once you have created a business account, you have the opportunity to look into your Insights.
Insights are very important to find out what your followers like for contributions. You can see
which post has been most clicked, commented, reached, saved... has. So if your post about
Ferrari has reached about the same number of people as the post about Porsche, but has
received many more likes, you can conclude that your
followers want more posts about Ferrari. So you can identify and kill posts or topics that are
not doing well and continue to post posts that are doing well.
The algorithm will consider your account relevant if it notices that your post is often clicked,
saved and commented on in the first hour. The first hour is very important, because only in
this time you can prove the algorithm that your post is relevant. After that it doesn't matter how
many Likes you get. That's why I want to show you how you can get the most out of the first
hour.
Motivation is a very important part of this business, especially in the beginning, where you
have to put a lot into it and get nothing out. To help you get more motivation in such a time,
I've put a list of different motivation quotes in the appendix of this e-book, which you can
always look at and read through.
There is a certain structure for the image description of your contribution. It should consist of
a question at the beginning, followed by an information text as precise as possible, then the
CTA text and at the end your hashtags. I will go into more detail about the exact areas in the
following. Of course you don't have to do this, but I speak from experience that this structure
is the most suitable.
Initial question
As already mentioned, this should be the first thing the reader sees. This question could be
anything. It is best if the question fits and refers to your post. However, if you can't think of a
possible question that relates to your post, you can also ask general questions such as "Do
you agree?" or "Did you like the post?
With this question, which the reader sees directly, you invite him or her to write a comment on
your question. And many comments will increase your reach, but you already know that by
now.
Information text
The information text is a text that matches your contribution and tells something about it. What
many people like, is when there is a lot of research in this text. But never just make up
something that isn't really true, because you will quickly lose the trust of your readers.
However, if you write good and true information, your readers will know that you take the time
to do so and that you bring good added value.
CTA-text
A CTA- text (call to action text) is a request to follow you, write you a comment, send you a
DM if you have questions or other things. This text can be structured differently and you can
write different things in it. An example would be here:
Hashtags
Hashtags are one of the most important things in image description. With hashtags, you have
the possibility to reach thousands of people. You should never underestimate hashtags,
because you will see that you can use them to get most people to contribute to your work.
Therefore, it is important to use the right hashtags. They should match your post, so don't use
hashtags that may reach many people but the wrong people. Because you also want to get
followers through the people you reach.
I recommend using 15-20 hashtags per post. You can put up to 30 hashtags in your
description, but the algorithm punishes you a bit by reducing your range with every additional
hashtag you use. You are probably wondering how you know which hashtags match your post
and your account. There is a method to find out exactly that, namely the hashtag analysis. On
Instagram you can enter a hashtag that fits into the search bar. In our example a good
"#Ferrrari".
When you click on the hashtag, you will see how many posts have been uploaded and which
hashtags are similar. You click on the suggested hashtags and see how many posts have
been published with them. Be careful, however, that you stay in your topic area, because you
can quickly end up with completely different hashtags.
You can best imagine this analysis like a big funnel. At the very top of the funnel, 10 hashtags
come in, above which 1,000,000-500,000 posts have been published. One floor below, 10
hashtags again, above which 500,000-250,000 posts have been published. Of course, you
have to write down the hashtags somewhere in order to access them later. You then continue
this procedure with each floor (floor 3: 250,000-100,000, floor 4: 100,000-50,000, floor 5:
below 50,000 posts) and pick 10 hashtags for each one. By the end of the process, you should
have written down a total of 50 hashtags, which you can use to vary each post.
Marking people
If you want to upload a contribution you have the possibility to mark persons on it. You should
mark your own account in every post, because many people, as stupid as it may sound, are
too lazy to put their finger on top of your name to view your profile. So make it easy for them
to find you and mark yourself at the bottom of the picture.
You can also mark other accounts, which helps you reach even more people. Because if you
do this for larger accounts, your post will appear in their feed. There are many people who
look for pictures there as well. And if you are lucky, someone will see your post and follow you
because of that.
Location trick
You also have the possibility to insert a location. This trick also allows you to reach even more
people. It's best to select different cities for each entry, because that's where the most people
live. But be careful: Switch off your location during this process so that Instagram cannot see
where you are in reality. If Instagram finds out more often, you will be punished.
Although this punishment is not great, it also reduces your range by a small amount.
So if at 9 pm most of your readers are active, this is the best time to upload your post. In my
experience the best upload time is at 8:30 pm.
The AVR formula is a well-known method to take your account to the next level. It is similar to
what I have explained before, but here it is simplified and brought to the point.
A-Attention - You have to get the attention of your target group. You can do this by uploading
photos and videos of their dream life. (As an example in the business niche: expensive cars
and money)
V-Value - For someone to follow you, you have to give them a reason. A reason could be for
example added value.
R-Relatability - People will only listen to you and look at your stuff if they can relate to you
themselves. Tell stories to build relativity.
Next formula and also the most important formula is the IPF formula. It’s basically the whole
strategy behind this business. IPF means: Instagram Plus Funnel Formula. It describes the
Instagram Business working together with different Funnels. Funnels are essential building
blocks of your business, which allow you to convert potential customers into paying customers
by creating them once. The most successful online marketers have continued to expand and
refine the nature of the funnel over time. Through funnels, thousands of online marketers have
been able to increase their profits by 70%. This alone should be enough to illustrate how
important funnels are.
There are different funnels for each stage of your business. Your landing page needs to be a
funnel that your potential customers automatically go through, your ads are funnels, your email
marketing is a funnel, free webinars and everything else. All these things are the start of a
funnel, which automatically makes customers spend money with you. If you want to deep dive
into the funnel system and want to learn everything about it so that you can increase your
income to 70% as well, then here is a book tip: I just read the book „Dotcom Secrets“ from
Russel Brunson (Russel Brunson is the most successful online marketer in the world).
This book explains you exactly every step abut funnels and shows you step-by-step how you
can create your own product/funnel. You may not be that good of a reader but trust me. This
book will change your life.
Highlight cover
Your highlights should have a good cover and be consistent. First of all, it will look much better
and secondly it will bring more structure to your account. You can create good covers relatively
easily. You choose a suitable symbol on the website "Flaticon.com" and edit it. The right color,
the right background, make it transparent etc. How you do all this I will explain to you at the
next point.
Now we come to another important point, namely how you can create posts. For this you need
different programs and websites. I will now explain to you how I create my contributions.
Freepik
Freepik is a website where you can download images, vectors and icons. I personally always
go to Filter and select vectors and Free. You can of course buy the premium version, but I
think the normal version is sufficient. With the premium version you can download unlimited
images and vectors per day. With the normal version you have a certain number of images
that you can download per day. If you sign up for free, which I recommend you do, you can
download a few more per day as if you didn't have an account.

Flaticon
Flaticon works just like Freepik. The only difference is that you can only download symbols
from Flaticon. But you will find many more flat symbols here than in Freepik.

Gimp
Gimp is a program that you can download for free from the internet. With it you have the
possibility to make your downloaded vectors transparent. You need this to upload them
afterwards in Canva without background. With Gimp you can also do a lot more like crop, cut,
add a gradient etc., but the most important thing is how you make a transparent background.
Unfortunately, I can't explain to you now how all this works, otherwise the frame would be
blown up. I advise you to watch a YouTube video. But I'll give you one more tip: If you made
the background transparent, you have to save the image as a PNG file. If you
don't do that, the background will not remain transparent.
Canva
Canva is also a website, which is the main part of creating a contribution. Here you can choose
what you want to create. Only the templates Instagram Contribution and Instagram Story are
relevant for you. As the names already tell you, you can create stories with one of the
templates and posts with the other. Once you have clicked on one of these templates, you will
be taken to a page where you can upload your vectors and symbols via uploads. You just have
to drag them into the field. You can easily make the background in the
color you want or you can create your own background and upload it as well. Now you can
insert and enlarge/reduce/move your images. You can easily insert a text over the text area.
You can choose from hundreds of fonts and colors. I personally use the font Lato Bold.
Again, here at Canva there are many other things you can do, but most of them you just don't
need and are unnecessary. When your contribution is finished, you can download it in the top
right corner and drag it to your mobile phone.
Contribution Ideas
You can get the ideas for your contribution almost everywhere. You can get inspiration from
other sources (but don't copy them bluntly, because you want to stand out from the crowd),
you can also get ideas from books, movies or anything else. Even if you look at a few vectors
that fit your theme, you will surely come up with something good. From time to time, you can
also get ideas through blunt thinking. Sit down for a few minutes and do some soul-searching.
Think hard about what your followers want to see and how you can get it across.
Of course there are no-goes too. To avoid losing range, you should definitely not do the things
that punish you by the algorithm I mentioned before. There is also an absolute no-go that you
should never do. Follow for follow. There are very simple reasons why you should definitely
not do that. First, the algorithm punishes you if you follow too many accounts in a given time.
Secondly, it simply does not help you. You will get a few more followers, but they won't look at
your posts or link them. So what do they bring you then? Nothing! Stick to organic ways and
don't risk your growth.
As we agreed at the beginning, the money shouldn't be your why. But Instagram offers many
ways to make money, so why not earn some yourself?
Affiliate Marketing
One possibility is to sell products. These do not necessarily have to be your own. It is important
that these products fit to your niche, otherwise nobody would buy them. Affiliate marketing
basically means that you search for a digital product such as an e-book, online program or
PDF files. And for every sale you make, you get a commission. The commissions can variate
for every product. As example you could sell an e-book for $20 and get 60% as commission,
which is $12. Or you could sell an online program for $997 and get 30%
($299) for every sale you make.
You can search and find these affiliate products on different websites. The best platform is
probably digistore24 marketplace. There are hundreds of e-books and other digital products
for every niche which you can use to do affiliate marketing. But if you want to save time and
also make the most out of affiliate marketing, then I would suggest you to sell my mentorship

The second way is to publish a gig on freelancer websites. There are several freelancer
websites out there, but I can absolutely recommend you to use www.fiverr.com. I myself used
this website back in the days to make my first money. Just create yourself an account, create
a great looking gig and offer your service for a cheap price. After you already had a good
number of customers, you can higher your price a little bit.
Pro Tip: Always follow up with your previous customers and ask if they need more content or
maybe different things such as Reels, a new Logo or other things, because already existing
customers are more likely to invest into your service again, then new customers.
Shoutouts
You can also earn money through shoutouts. But unfortunately, this is only possible if you
already have some followers, because nobody would spend money for a shoutout with an
account of 100 followers.
But let me explain what a shoutout means. If someone buys a shoutout from you, then you
have to give him a shoutout on your page. This could be done as a feed post, a story post or
both. As I said before, you have to have a good number of followers to do that. In general, you
can start selling shoutouts with an account of 50k and more followers. Now the question:
After the customer said what they need, you send them your e-mail address where they can
send their content to. Then you just have to arrange a date and time where you publish it and
send them your PayPal address where they can send the money to, done.
Account Management
Account management means that you manage someone else’s Instagram page and get paid
for that. Almost every big page has account managers because they already earn money with
their pages and with that money they can pay them. Then the owners of these pages don’t
have to spend time, managing the page and they can focus on more important things such as
scaling their business. Account management includes all the following things: Publishing posts
everyday on time, creating the content (Sometimes, depends on what your deal with the page
owner is), answering DM’s, engage with the
audience, answer the comments and all the other things you basically have to do when you
own a page. To get a client, send messages to big pages and kindly ask if they need an
account manager. Offer them a very good price and once you are managing 1 - 3 pages, you
can take more money and show other pages that you already manage good looking pages.
Furthermore, you could also use a freelancer website for advertising your service. Go on
fiverr.com and create a gig about account managing.
DM Closing
This is a good method to make money on the side. DM closing means that you take care of
all the DM’s that a page gets. But you are not just answering DM’s. You manage the DMs of a
page, which is selling their digital products. So when a customer messages this page and want
to get their digital product, then it’s your job to convince and close them. After you closed
someone, you get % of the revenue.
Let’s say you manage a 100k page which is selling a mentorship program. Now you close a
customer for a $497 product and you made a deal with this page that you get 30%. Then you
make an easy $150. If the page doesn’t trust you because he thinks you are not that good in
closing, offer him to manage the DM’s for 5 or 10% first. And when you closed a couple of
people you can raise your price because the page sees that you are doing well. Besides that,
you will learn more and more over the time and get better As always, just message big pages
which are selling products or offer your service on Fiverr.
Cooperations
Now let’s talk about cooperations, one of the best methods. This basically means that you
cooperate with a big page which is not selling any product at the moment. It will be very hard
to find a big page which is not selling any product yet, but it’s worth it when you find one.
You ask the page if they want to make a deal with you, in which they don’t have to do anything
and still earn some money. Because what you have to do is to create a completely new product
for this page, build a new funnel and set everything up, so that this page can start making
money. The page owner doesn’t have to do anything so he has nothing to lose with this deal.
Once you created everything, the page owner only has to pitch the offer in his stories, Bio,
Caption, Feed and everywhere he wants. And when someone clicks the link, he will go through
the funnel/website and buys the digital product. The link which the owner uses is then an
affiliate link which means you get % for every sale which is coming.
You probably wonder why you should do this method instead of just create your own product
and do everything on your own. The one and big difference is that you use the pages follower
base to send people to the funnel and get traffic.
Funnel Building
In a couple of the last points, I already mentioned Funnels. Funnels are websites which are
built up like a funnel. They turn new customers automatically into paying customers. If you
want to learn exactly what funnels are and how you can use them, make sure to watch a
YouTube video about that, there are tons.
Anyway, for this method you have to know already how to build conversion funnels. Because
your job would be to ask pages which already sell products, to build a funnel for them, so they
make more money with less work. The best platform you can use to build a funnel is
clickfunnels. With that tool you have everything you need to start building a funnel. So after
you discussed with the page owner you price and what type of digital product the page is
selling, you can start building the funnel and give the page owner full access after that. This is
a really high-class method to make money which means you can easily charge $500 - $5000
for a funnel. But make sure to start with a low price to get into it and raise your price after every
client. Only charge as much as your funnels are worth.
You should reinvest the money you earn. That means you put the money you earn into
advertising your account to get even more new followers to whom you can sell your product
as well. So it is a cycle that can be followed for some time. Of course you can also put the
earned money into the next projects. That is up to you. But I would highly recommend you, to
reinvest the money in influencer marketing (More about influencer marketing in my video
course the Instagram Academy Pro).
To get a better understanding why influencer marketing is so important after you got your first
money let me tell you something. At the beginning your page will grow just a little, like a few
followers per day. After you got your first 1000 Followers, it will get a little bit easier. If you use
my growth strategies, then you will be able to grow a couple hundreds of followers per day.
But that’s still a linear growth. But at the moment where you do influencer marketing, your
page will grow exponential. It blows up. And that’s what we are looking for to achieve. And if
you are growing exponential, you will get more interested customers, which means you will
get more sales, and that means more money. Half of this money you can then put in influencer
marketing again, and again, and again…. That is called scaling your business to the next level.
I will give you some methods to keep you motivated, because I have noticed that I get pushed
a lot and am ready to give everything again.
1. follow the pages that have already achieved what you still want to achieve by seeing their
success, you will become more motivated and want to start right away.
2. deal with the topic. By this I mean that you should just get started. This may be a very
difficult step for some people, but once you cross the line and think to yourself: Just get started,
it will become easier and easier. Because once you start doing something, you get more and
more motivated.
