Report:
The Department of Mathematics, St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, Hyderabad
conducted a webinar to PG second year and the faculty of Mathematics, on Introduction to
Mathematica on 11th December 2021, from 3:00pm to 5.00 pm online through WebEx
platform. At the beginning, Ms. K. Ramanjana, Faculty member of Department of
Mathematics gave a welcome speech and introduced the speaker.The speaker, Ms. Richa
Saha, Research Scholar, Department of Mathematics, Christ University briefed us about the
Mathematica software development.She started explaining with basics and later, she
demonstrated the applications of mathematica softwarie in various branches of
mathematics.She highlighted the benefits of Mathematica software in problem solving and
briefly discussed the concept of plotting of graphs and three- Dimensional
visualization. Twenty four participants comprising of Teaching Faculty Members(8) and PG
Students(16) have participated. After the presentation, Ms. K Lavanya, delivered the vote of
thanks.

Feedback from the Organisation about the visit: The organization was very happy and
appreciated the students generosity towards the children.They appreciated the management
for conducting such events.

PG Community Outreach Program
As part of the community outreach program, first year M.Sc students of the Department of
Mathematics of St Francis College, visited Govt. Primary School, B. S. Maktha, Begumpet.
The program was conducted in the middle of November i.e. from 21th February 2022 to 26th
February 2022 from 9 am to 3 pm.
The students were divided into a group of four and assigned the charges of different classes
from class 1 to 5. They taught children the basic lessons of each subject. Adding to these, the
children were trained for various activities like action songs and games. The school children
were overwhelmed and participated in all activities carried out by the students.
The outreach program has given an opportunity to each student of the department to
interact with the children and faculty of the school. The students and children were equally
benefited from the outreach program. The students expressed their gratitude towards the
School Management and the College Department

Feedback from the Organisation about the visit: They were happy on our visit. Children
enjoyed playing the games conducted for them and dancing with our students.

Birthday Celebrations
The Dept of Mathematics has celebrated Birthday of Dr,Lalitha (HOD) on November 26th
2022. We had a fun filled celebration followed by cake cutting .10 of the faculty members
were part of the celebration.

Ms.Rekha R Jai chander was appointed as HOD of Mathematics department on 8th December
2021.The faculty members congratulated Rekha ma’am for her success and her new role in

On March 31st 2022,Dept of Mathematics went out for lunch to RajThali
restaurant,Jubilee Hills ,as a part of Faculty bonding program .They had delicious Food and
had good time by refreshing themselves from the hectic work .They had a memorable day.

Silver jubilee celebration
The silver jubilee celebration for Ms. Rekha R Jaichander was celebrated on September 5,
2021. The family members of Rekha ma'am were invited for the celebration.The felicitations
were done by the Management, Teaching staffs, Non teachings staffs, Dean Academics,
Faculty Members, Staff Association and Students. Further, PG students of the math
department performed dance followed by singing and dance performance by the Faculty of
math department.
