Schneider Family

“PLC, PAC”
Classification of Schneider PLC
Schneider Plc’s can be classified according its purpose, function and
environmental process as:
Commercial Machinery: M171/M172/M173
for simple and compact machines like HVAC, Stand-alone pumps … etc.
This controller is also available in a flush mounting version that requires
minimal installation effort while providing tremendous versatility. M173
provides a high level of field connectivity.
M172 performance logic controller for any size and BMS-connectable
machines. A wide selection of I/O expansions and remote displays
enables the controller to provide improved performance, connectivity,
and scalability.
Connected everywhere with multiple BMS connectivity options or
embedded and an embedded web server.
With high degree of flexibility makes it very easy to install additional
modules and still keep everything in just one configuration.
Industrial Machinery: M200/Zelio SR/M221/M241/M251/M262
1) M200: Compact PLC for simple machine can be wall-mounted
or floor-stand on machine body and up to 168 I/O with overload
protection, 2 cartridges up to 4 expansions.

2) Zelio SR: Logic smart relays provides PID function applications

and a 2G/3G modem communication ability.
provides simplified tool-free Ladder or FBD and SFC language
programming.
6, 10, or 14 up to 40 discrete I/O and 4 analog I/O extension
modules.
3) M221: Flexible compact edition can be used in simple machines
like: packaging recycling machines, commercial equipment
construction/service sector, … etc. due to its excellent connection
capacity and customization options without increasing the
controller size with respect to its very small dimensions and a
wide choice of connections and has the following specifications:
• 24 VDC, 100 – 240 VAC of CPU power supply
• Support Modbus, RTU, ASCII communication protocols
• Has 16, 24, 40 of integrated I/O
• Support 7 TM3 local expansion modules and 14 TM3 remote
expansion modules (transmitter and receiver)
4) M241: designed for high-performance compact machines
incorporating speed and position control functions with the
following specifications:
• 24 VDC, 100 – 240 VAC of CPU power supply
• Support Modbus, Ethernet, (Profibus, Profinet, Ethercat) for
servo systems
• 24, 40 of integrated I/O
• Support 7 TM3 local expansion modules and 14 TM3 remote
expansion modules (transmitter and receiver)
5) M251: designed for modular and distributed architectures with
the following specifications:
• 24 VDC of CPU power supply
• Support Modbus, Ethernet, IOT protocols
• Support 7 TM3 local expansion modules and 14 TM3 remote
expansion modules (transmitter and receiver)

6) M262: logic/motion controller is designed for performance-

demanding machines providing accurate, high precision level of
process and motion control with the following specifications:
• 24 VDC of CPU power supply
• Provides motion control features like Positioning, Velocity
control, Torque control, Cam motion, Robotics Axis Motion
• Has built-in overload protection
• Support TM3, TM5, TM7 expansion modules
• Support Modbus, Ethernet, ASCII, IOT protocols
Schneider PAC
PAC (Programmable Automation Controller) modules in Schneider
automation field refers to integrated units designed for industrial
automation tasks. These modules typically combine the functions of a
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) with additional capabilities such as
data handling, communication, and advanced control algorithms. PAC
module consists of:
• Power Supply
• CPU
• Communication Modules
• I/O Module (+ HART Communicator only for M580)
• Ethernet Switch
• Expert module
• Remote I/O
• ASCII Communication module (only for M580)
And there are only two main PAC’S modules (M340, M580).

1) M340: are built to suit the needs of the process industry and a
wide range of demanding automation applications. With the
following specifications:
• 4 racks – 6 ,8,12 slots
• 512 – 1024 Digital I/O, 128- 256 Analog I/O
• 24 - 48 - 125 VDC, 100 – 240 VAC of CPU power supply
• works at 0 – 60 C° for coated
• works at -25 – 70 C° for harsh
• Consumes 95 mA at 24 VDC
2) M580: Modicon M580 ePACs (Ethernet programmable automation
controllers) offer efficiency, resiliency, safety , enhanced
cybersecurity, and safety for automated operations. With the
following specifications:
• 4 racks – 6 ,8,12 slots
• 1024 – 2048 - 4096 Digital I/O, 256 – 512 - 1024 Analog I/O
• Gives more features in accurate time stamping, motion
control, HART Communication, Cybersecurity
• High level of redundancy and Future Scalability
• works at 0 – 60 C° for operation machinery
• works at -40 – 85 C° for storage machinery
• Consumes 270 mA at 24 VDC
• Support Modbus, Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, Iot protocols
