Vocabulary

Agentive - having the power to cause an effect.

Assemblages - collections of people or things

Hearth - the brick or cement floor of a fireplace that extends into a room

CELF - the Center on the Everyday Lives of Families at the University of

California at Los Angeles, which studies how families approach the challenges

of everyday life.

Observation - the act of watching something

Proliferation - the fast growth of something

Municipal - something related to a city or town

Strata - layers

Chronology - the order of events in time

Taper - when something slowly gets thinner

Precipitous - when something is very steep, like a cliff.

Slacken - to slow down or lessen

Resilient - flexible and springy

Judicious: to have good judgement, make good decisions.

Bioluminescent: visible light, caused by chemical reactions, that emits from a living organism.
