Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is one among 13 Universities of Health
Sciences in the Country, which is making a niche in the Medical Education over last few years. It
has five facilities of various health sciences, has 160 affiliated colleges and about 35000 students
are on roll with the University. In addition to the various courses pertaining to the health
sciences, the University has unique distinction of running skill development courses in as many as
60 streams which shall develop human resources which is a great need of the society. These skill
development Courses are in line with the thoughts of Hon'ble Prime Minister. The University is
committed for transparency accessibility problem solving approach for the students and
maintaining standards as per statutory bodies like MCI, DCI & INC. The University and its
affiliated colleges are putting the best effort to enhance the facilities, so that ambience of better
learning is created.
To add to it, it is worth mentioning here that the GGSMC, Faridkot is running super
specialty services in the cardiology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology as
well as Plastic Surgery . In all these department, the service are provided by the specialist doctors
in their respective fields.

Note-3: Provisional Merit will be displayed on 20th June, 2023. If any candidate found any
discrepancy in his/her merit he/she shall mail us relevant documents at email id i.e.
admissionbfuhs@gmail.com for rectification till 21st June, 2023 (upto 02:00 pm), failing
which he/she is not liable to claim his/her right to earlier seat, if cancelled due to
discrepancy found at the time of checking eligibility/document verification by the
Principal of allotted college.
Note-5: Candidates who have passed 10+1 and 10+2 from State other than Punjab shall be
considered during 2nd Round of Counseling.

INTRODUCTION
1. INTRODUCTION
BRIEF HISTORY:
The University was established at Faridkot under an Act of Punjab State Legislature (Punjab Act
No. 18 of 1998) in the name of great Sufi Saint Sheikh Farid Ganj-E-Shakar, (1173 1265 A.D.) in 1998
for purposes of affiliating, teaching and ensuring proper and systematic instruction, training and
research in Modern Systems of Medicine and Indian Systems of Medicine. It is not only affiliating and
examining body but also a teaching and research centre in health sciences. It is expected to play a vital
role in improving the standards of medical and health education in the state and in conducting
relevant research in all aspects of health sciences, basic as well as applied, which ultimately will
ameliorate the health standards of the people of Punjab. II is believed that the university will be a
trend setter in developing appropriate modes and models of health care to ensure quality health care
to the people.
The University has been recognized by MCI vide letter no. V/11015/3/2000-ME (UG) dated 9th
June, 2000. The UGC has also included the University in the list of recognized universities maintained
by the University Grants Commission, under section 2(1) of the UGC Act. 1956 vide letter no. F.9-3/97
(CPP-I) dated 4 July. 2002. The Regional Director. World Health Organization, Regional Office for
South-East Asia, World Health House, New Delhi has also forwarded the name of the University for
inclusion in the World Directory of Medical Schools vide letter No. M12/6212 dated 6 May 2002. The
University is also included in the list of Commonwealth Universities and their yearbook 2001 at page
No. 692 (Vol. l).
Established with a mission to create an intellectual, academic and physical environment
conducive to free flow of ideas and exchange of information between various faculties of the
university, between this university and other universities of health sciences in the country and abroad,
thereby opening a window to the world for the health professionals, health planners, health
managers. biomedical and social scientists and educationalists in health sciences of the country.
Efforts are on to establish contact with various institutions towards achieving this goal.
UNIVERSITY'S PRESENT STATUS:
New buildings of the University and its constituent college, GGS Medical College & Hospital
were completed in the year 2011. The university was shifted to its new building situated at Sadiq
Road, Faridkot in July 2011. Hon'ble Chief Minister, Punjab inaugurated two new University buildings
(Senate Block and Academic Block) on 22-09-2011. Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the
Radiotherapy Unit, and other buildings of GGS Medical College & Hospital, on 23-09-2011. The GGS
Medical College & Hospital, a constituent college of the University is also shifted to its new building.
The University Campus comprises of GGS Medical College along with Auditorium of 800
capacity, Senate Block, Academic Block, University College of Nursing, University College of
Physiotherapy, University Institute of Para-Medical Sciences, University Institute of Pharmaceutical
Sciences, Dept. of Nuclear Medicine, Telemedicine, Edusat and a well equipped state-of-the-art 500
bedded hospital, Drug De-addiction & Treatment Centre at Faridkot. The State Institute of Nursing and
Para-Medical Sciences, Village – Badal (Muktsar), Institute of Nursing (University Regional Centre) at
Shri Goindwal Sahib and Advanced Cancer Diagnostic Treatment & Research Centre and Drug De-
Addiction & Treatment Centre at Bathinda are also run by University.
Coveted projects to set up Trauma Centre, Regional Cancer Centre are in process. The
University has added to its academic convoy University Library & Informatics Division, Department of
Health Sciences Library & Information System, University Centre of Excellence in Research, Rose
Garden and Herbal Garden.

The university has started number of employment-oriented diploma courses and certificate
programs in health sciences and allied services.
The University is also in process of developing the following five study centres:
1. Centre for Distance Learning (Medical) and Educational Technology miscellaneous.
2. Centre for Health Systems and Health Services Management.
3. Centre for Bio-information Technology.
4. Centre for Human Resources Development and Health Management.
5. Centre for Population Sciences.
Govt. of Punjab has transferred 100 bedded Civil Hospital, Badal to University for
strengthening and expanding the connection between rural medical services and the education
and research carried on by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The GGS Medical
College & Hospital, a constituent college of the University has 25 departments and 20 post
graduate departments.
Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & more than 1000 bedded Hospital, Faridkot vide
notification no. 8/02/2005-1HB-I11/6308 dated 31.10.2006 and State Institute of Nursing &
Paramedical Sciences, Badal vide notification no. 1/46/07-1HBIV/1163 dated 28.11.2007. In
addition to above, there is physiotherapy college in the University campus. University has also
established its own Institute of Pharmacy.
At present the University is having 160 affiliated colleges (10 Medical, 14 Dental,
120 Nursing, 11 physiotherapy, 1 pharmacy, 1 Sports Medicine and 3 para medical) comprising
151 affiliated and 9 constituent Colleges.
University will soon endeavor to achieve excellence in health care delivery and medical
education and research in the State. Admissions to various undergraduate and post graduate
courses in the affiliated institutions of this University in the State of Punjab are made on merit
basis through the conduct of Entrance Tests. The PMET-2015 is being accordingly conducted to

enroll suitable candidates in the Medical/Dental Colleges of the State for the session 2015.
The university is now primarily focusing on strengthening postgraduate medical
education and research and evolving as a centre of excellence in a rural backdrop.
Selection of the candidates to any institution shall be made on merit and in transparent
manner.
1. Candidates except NRI can apply for B.Sc Para Medical Courses- 2023 through “Online” mode
only.
3. Candidates must retain this Prospectus with them till admission process is over. Read and comply
with all instructions therein strictly.
4. Online submission of Application Form can only be made by accessing University website
www.bfuhs.ac.in
5. Instructions for Online submission of Application Form are available in the Prospectus and on the
University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in
6. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Prospectus and University website.
Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
7. Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future
correspondence.
a. At least three printouts of online submitted application form.
b. Proof of fee paid
c. 3 copies of latest identical coloured Photograph with date (should be passport size with
white background) that scanned and uploaded on the Online Application form.
Note: Photograph should not have cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if being used
regularly. POLAROID and COMPUTER generated photos are not acceptable. Applications not
complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected.
Candidates may please note that if it is found that photograph affixed is fabricated i.e. de-
shaped or seems to be hand-made or computer made, the form of the candidate will be
rejected and the same would be considered as using unfair means practices and candidate
would accordingly be dealt with the rules of unfair means.
8. Please visit university website www.bfuhs.ac.in for all regular and updated information
concerning admissions/Date of counseling of B.Sc Para Medical Courses - 2023 from time to time.
a. Candidate must ensure that mobile numbers, E-mail address filled in the online Application
form are his/her own as University will make communications by SMS or mail on given
mobile number and mailing ID only.

b. The Candidate himself/herself shall be held responsible for non-receipt of latest information
due to wrong mobile number or mailing address filled in the online Application Form.
9. Fee can only be remitted through University Online payment Gateway. Candidature will be
cancelled, who fails to deposit requisite fee within stipulated date and time.
10. Fee once deposited in the University account shall not be Refunded/Adjusted in any case.
11. An error in filling ONLINE APPLICATION FORM may result in rejection of such an Application
Form. Corrections in the information given by the candidate in the ONLINE APPLICATION
FORM may not be permitted.
12. Fill category carefully in the online Admission Application Form. Category once claimed will
not be changed in any case after submitting the form.
Those candidates, who do not fill/claim any category code as per prospectus or fill a wrong
category code other than mentioned in prospectus, will be treated in Open merit. The candidate
may select a category code from the codes (see at page no. 13) and fill the category accordingly.
More than one category may be filled by a candidate if it is considered applicable in the
candidate's particular case. Category codes are exclusively for the purpose of facilitating the
candidates to know and understand his/her respective merit placement at the time of counseling
in various reserved categories as have been filled by him/her. Reserve category selection on the
part of the candidate shall not in any case be construed to give him/her any legitimacy or right or
claim on the benefits for reserved seats during admission. Claims to admissions against reserved
seats in MBBS/BDS courses will be on the basis of appropriate claims made in the Admission
Application Form subject to rules and regulations contained in the Punjab Government
Notifications printed in the Part-B of this prospectus and as per the decisions of the Selection
Committee constituted for this purpose by the Punjab Government. No benefit of reservation
whatsoever shall be given if the claim is not made in Admission Application Form.
13. Candidates will be responsible for any mistakes made by him/her in his/her application form.
University shall not be responsible for the same.
14. This Prospectus is subject to alteration(s) or modification(s) at any time without notice. For
updates please refer to University website from time to time.
15. The list of Colleges and availability of seats shown in this prospectus may vary and the final
status shall be displayed at the time of counseling.
16. Reservations of seats in the affiliated institutions in Punjab shall be as per the policy of the
Government of Punjab.
17. The schedule of Admission/Counseling shall be notified through the Press or University, website.
In case of changes (if any), no separate intimation letters will be sent.
18. Personal appearance of candidate(s) is essential at the time of Counseling. He/she will produce
all documents/ testimonials in original for verification by the Admission Committee failing which
he/she will not be considered for counseling.
19. Preference will be given to candidates who have passed 10+1 and 10+2 from recognized
school/institutions situated in the state of Punjab and candidate must have bonafide resident

of Punjab and if seats remained vacant will be offered to the candidates who have passed their
10+1 and 10+2 examination from school situated outside Punjab state.
20. The eligibility for admission of the candidates shall be determined by the Admission Committee
at the time of counseling.
21. The candidate should read the eligibility conditions carefully. Eligibility conditions for admissions
are given in the Prospectus. Allocation of seat is provisional subject to verification of original
documents/checking of eligibility by the Principal of concerned College. It is sole responsibility of
the Principal to authenticate the eligibility of the allocated candidate before joining/admission.
As per Eligibility criteria, those aspirants who will found ineligible will not be considered for
admission.
22. The candidate may opt for admission to his/her desirable course and institution at the time of
counseling. The candidate may opt to change choice of college and course during subsequent
round of counseling(s).
23. All necessary information regarding allocation of merit and seeking admission to B.Sc. Para
Medical Courses in Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot, Advanced Cancer Diagnostic
Treatment & Research Centre, Bathinda & Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Sangrur, all applicable
rules and regulations, etc., are contained in this PROSPECTUS for admission to B.Sc. Para Medical
Courses. This Prospectus is subject to alteration(s) or modification(s) at any time without notice.

25. The Post Matric Scholarship Scheme: SC category candidates are entitled for scholarship from the
Department of Welfare, Govt. of Punjab if they fulfill their terms and conditions. SC category
candidates, whose family annual income from all sources is less than Rs. 2.5 lacs, are entitled for
post matric scholarship as per guidelines of Govt. of India and Punjab Govt. The candidates will
have to submit Freeship Card alongwith admission application from. For details regarding this
scheme/forms/procedure, respective colleges/candidates should visit the website of Punjab
Govt., Deptt. of Medical Education and Research (www.punjabmedicaleducation.org) and
University website (www.bfuhs.ac.in). For any query/clarification, candidates/respective colleges
can contact the office of Director, Medical Education and Research, Punjab, Chandigarh or
Director, Welfare Deptt., Punjab, Chandigarh. For further information and applying for
scholarship candidates may visit http://www.punjabscholarships.gov.in. It is also responsibility of
the candidate to ensure that his/her application for Scholarship is submitted in time.
26. This is for the information of all candidates that as per Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, if any
incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given
liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him
from the institution.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COUNSELLING (Online)
1. Online Counselling will be held as per the date/schedule available on the University website.
2. The candidates should read the eligibility conditions carefully and just participating in counseling
does not entitle his/her right for admission. Eligibility conditions for admissions shall be notified
as mentioned in the Prospectus under Clause “Eligibility”. The eligibility shall be determined by
the Admission Committee at the time of physical counseling or by the Principal of Allotted
College. Those who are not eligible will not be considered for admission and their seat will be
treated as cancelled.
3. The allotment of seat and college shall be made as per the choice of candidate at the time of the
Physical Counseling by the Admission Committee on the basis of the merit determined as per
marks obtained by the candidate in 10+2 examination and other terms and conditions contained
in the Prospectus.
4. The candidates shall have to produce all the certificates/degrees/diplomas/ documents in original
at the counseling venue/joining/admission in respective colleges.
6. Deposition of Annual Fee after provisional allocation during 1st round of online counseling:
Candidate will deposit tuition fee through online payment gateway. Candidate will report for
medical checkup and joining alongwith submission of proof of fee deposition to the respective
college within stipulated time/period, failing which allocated seat will stand cancelled
automatically without any intimation to the candidate.
In case of physical counselling candidate will have to deposit tuition fee on the spot at the venue
of counseling in the shape of Demand Draft fvg. Registrar, BFUHS, Faridkot, failing which his/her
provisional selection will be treated as cancelled without any intimation to the candidate.

PROCEDURE OF ONLINE COUNSELLING AND JOINING AT THE COLLEGES
Counselling for admission to B.Sc Para Medical Courses, session 2023 will be conducted followed
by Physical reporting of the candidates at allotted colleges. During counseling, candidates will have to
participate in person where they will give their preferences of course, college, quota & category. The
Provisional Seat will be allocated as per the merit of qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 and in order of
preferences given by the candidate. Therefore, candidates are advised to take care during opting the
seat/course. Candidates of reserved categories (who scored marks equivalent or more than the minimum
cut-off of open merit) will also be considered in open merit, if open merit seat is available then seat of
open merit will be allocated first, otherwise seat of reserved category will be allocated.
After provisional allocation of seat, candidates will have to report to the respective college along
with fee receipt and all original documents for the checking of documents and their eligibility. Merely,
issuing of Provisional Selection Slip does not confer any right to claim the allocation of seat in respective
college as their provisional selection is subject to verification of documents and checking of eligibility as
per guidelines/terms and conditions enshrined in the Prospectus.
If candidate do not follow the said process, his/her allocated seat will be cancelled automatically
without any intimation and his/her seat shall be declared as vacant for the subsequent round of
counseling.
If candidate is satisfied with seat allocated to him/her, he/she is not required to participate in the
subsequent round of counseling(s). In case, candidate wishes/intends to upgrade/change his/her seat
he/she will have to participate in the subsequent round of counselling and give his/her preferences
afresh for the course/college/quota/ category.
In case any candidate wants to quit the course/seat, he/she will have to submit application to the
respective college regarding his/her surrender of seat well in advance before start of next round of
counselling.
In case candidate seat is upgraded/changed in the subsequent round of counselling and he/she
has already deposited the tuition fee, he/she is not required to deposit fee again, provided he/she has to
deposit any difference in fee, if any.
The seats in 2nd round will be allocated as per availability of seats as per merit cum
choice/preference submitted by the candidates.

GENERAL INFORMATION & REGULATIONS
1. All admissions are provisional and are subject to approval by Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences, Faridkot
2. The courses of study and examinations will be governed by the regulations of BFUHS.
3. The Rules and Regulations, including fees, may be revised as and when required and the
revised rules and regulations/fee will be applicable irrespective of the conditions
mentioned in this prospectus. All Students shall comply with rules & regulations.
4. In case of any dispute arising out of any Clause/Provisions of the prospectus, the Civil
Court at Faridkot shall have the jurisdiction to entertain and decide the dispute.
5. This is for the information of all candidates that as per Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, if
any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall
be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority
would expel him from the institution.
6. Students, whose conduct and academic standards are considered unsatisfactory, shall
not be allowed to appear in the University Examination or to hold any post in any
extracurricular committee of the college/department.
7. All students must abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel. On failure to do so,
disciplinary action will be taken by the hostel/college authorities.

ELIGIBILITY, PROCEDURE AND OTHER CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
TO B.Sc (PARA MEDICAL) COURSES
1. Duration of Course:
Duration of course shall be three (3) years. Duration of Bachelor of Audiology & Speech-Language
Pathology shall be Four (4) years.
2. Admission criteria and Qualification:
Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
individually and must have obtained 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Or
Candidate has passed 10+2 examination in any stream other than science and holding 2 years full
time regular diploma in a paramedical subject from a recognized medical college only.
Lateral Entry: Candidate is eligible for lateral entry directly into the second year of B.Sc. course, if
he/she has passed 10+2 (Science) and holding 2 years full time regular diploma in paramedical
subject from a recognized medical college only.
