Well, hey there, dear listener!
I’m so very glad you decided to download this free resource -- your life is about to get a
whole lot easier. Not gonna lie, it took me years to put together a project plan like the one
I’m sharing with you today… a project plan that runs like a well-oiled machine!
All you need to do is go through this resource step-by-step and use my real-life examples
to guide you as you create your project plan. You’re going to love how easy and intuitive it
is. Plus, did I mention it will save you tons of time? (Yes, please!)
So whether you’re running the show solo right now or you’ve got a team… this is going to
be a business game-changer for you.
Please note that the real-life examples I gave you are from my project platform of choice,
Asana, so that’s the platform you’ll be seeing in each of the examples. However, that
doesn’t mean you can’t replicate the steps on any other platform. Use whatever works best
for you and your business.
Good luck, have fun and happy project planning!

STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE MAIN FOCUS OF YOUR PROJECT PLAN
This may sound obvious but before you do anything else, get clear on the focus for your
project. When you’re clear on what this project is for, you’ll avoid merging two or more
projects into one, and you’ll have a clear understanding of what tasks are going to be
required within this project plan.
STEP 2: OUTLINE YOUR PROJECT
Start with overarching categories and then break those down into smaller bite-size tasks
that fall under each category. At this time, you’re not assigning due dates or assignees.
Real-life Example:
Here’s an example of my overarching categories:

Here’s an example of the subcategories:
STEP 3: SET DATES
For this part in your planning, identify the most important dates within your plan, as in big,
non-negotiable dates that will determine the smaller tasks within your project plan.
Once you know the major dates, you’ll be able to schedule out the supporting tasks.

STEP 4: IDENTIFY KEY PLAYERS
If you’re riding solo here, you’re the owner of all tasks, and trust me, I remember those
days. It’s a grind for sure, but you’ve got this.
If you have a team of one or more, you need to make sure you’re assigning the correct
tasks to the correct team member or support role.
Real-life Example:
STEP 5: FINALIZE THE
OUTLINE AND ADD ANY
DETAILS, RESOURCES,
OR SOPS TO EACH TASK
Go into each task and give it
a description, which should
include any resources, links,
and SOPs that can support
you or anyone else who will
be doing this task.

STEP 6: FINAL REVIEW AND CHECK-INS
At this point, I suggest you take a moment to review your project plan from top to bottom
-- look at the tasks, due dates, assignees, and triple check to make sure everything is
looking correct.
Beyond that, I like to check in on a daily basis to see what’s on track, what’s off track, what
dates need to be changed or adjusted.
STEP 7: MAKE A COPY IF YOU’RE GOING TO USE THIS PROJECT PLAN AGAIN
(THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT!)
Within many project management platforms, you can simply save what you’ve created as
a template and copy it within the platform the next time you need it.
You also have the option of exporting the project plan or template which is a nice option
to save in your Google Drive, so you have a backup if anything were to happen with your
platform of choice.
That means when the time comes to create a new project plan, you simply create a copy
of the template, adjust the dates or any updated resources… and away you go.
Following these seven simple steps will save you so much time and energy, and keep you
organized as you move forward in your business. This I can promise you, my friend! Staying
organized with clarity and a plan has helped my business to grow immensely. Happy
project planning!
