-Drainage Layer-Large pieces of slate and then filled smaller cracks with smaller pieces
-Use geotextile fabric to separate drainage from slate
-Substrate, using natural blends + sustainable materials is better for microbes
-Grapewood vines in the soil
-Sphagnum moss to cover the soil
-Planting:
*Peperomia
-Peperomia piccolo banda
*Peperomia caperta rosso
-Fittonia sp.
-Little botanicals like mini pinecones or nuts, things like that. Filling in the gaps with
dragonstone.

Water Biosphere
-Any substrate-pea pebbles, aquarium pebbles, and sand
-Few small pieces of lump charcoal, or some activated carbon from a fishtank filter
-Bottled water or any de-chlorinated water. Once you have put your plants in, make sure you
leave sufficient airspace for the gas exchange. ¼ substrate, 2/4 water, and ¼ air space
-Close the lid and place it away from direct sunlight. Add a couple of pond snails to keep it clean
-No need to clean the water
-You can use bladder snails in closed jars
How to get a long-lasted ecosphere
-Use tropical plants that you acclimated to high humidity (Epipremnum sp., scindapsus sp.,
tradescnatia zebrina, ficus pumila
-If you want moss, collect different local moss species from the wettest spots in your area and
cultivate in closed boxes for a few weeks before you place it in an ecosphere.
-Don’t use any soil at all, only puffed clay.
-Add only small saprotrophic fauna. Isopods and collembola.
-Place your ecosphere in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight or it’ll bake it to death.
