1. Heritage (noun) /ˈherɪtɪdʒ/: di sản/the history, traditions, buildings and objects that a
country or society has had for many years and that are considered an important part of its
character.
=> The building is part of our national heritage.
2. Countryside (noun) /ˈkʌntrisaɪd/: nông thôn/land outside towns and cities, with fields,
woods, etc.
=> The beautiful countryside of Wales
3. Staff (noun) /stɑːf/: nhân viên/all the workers employed in an organization considered as
a group.
=> The hospital staff cared for me so well.
4. Advise (verb) /ədˈvaɪz/: khuyên nhủ/to tell somebody what you think they should do in a
particular situation.
=> I'd advise you not to tell him.
5. Frighten (verb) /ˈfraɪtn/: làm hoảng sợ/to make somebody suddenly feel afraid.
=> Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you.
6. Injure (verb) /ˈɪndʒə(r)/: làm tổn thương, làm hại/to harm yourself or somebody else
physically, especially in an accident
=> Three people were killed and five injured in the crash.
7. Distance (noun) /ˈdɪstəns/: khoảng cách/the amount of space between two places or
things.
=> She walked the short distance to her apartment.
8. Uneven (adj) /ʌnˈiːvn/: không bằng phẳng, gồ ghề/not level, smooth or flat.
=> The floor felt uneven under his feet.
9. Slip (verb) /slɪp/: trượt chân/to slide a short distance by accident so that you fall or nearly
fall.
=> As I ran up the stairs, my foot slipped and I fell.
10. Path (noun) /pɑːθ/: đường đi/a way or track that is built or is made by the action of
people walking.
=> Follow the path through the woods.
11. Layout (noun) /ˈleɪaʊt/: cách bố trí, cách sắp đặt/the way in which the parts of something
such as the page of a book, a website, a garden or a building are arranged.
=> The magazine’s attractive new page layout.
12. Scarecrow (noun) /ˈskeəkrəʊ/: bù nhìn/a figure made to look like a person, that is
dressed in old clothes and put in a field to frighten birds away.
=> The wind blew harder and harder but the scarecrow just held the overcoat to its side.
13. Keep away (phv): tránh xa/to avoid going near somebody/something.
=> Keep away from the edge of the cliff.
14. Permanent (adj) /ˈpɜːmənənt/: lâu dài/lasting for a long time or for all time in the future;
existing all the time.
=> She was unable to find a permanent job.
15. Sculpture (noun) /ˈskʌlptʃə(r)/: điêu khắc/a work of art that is a solid figure or object
made by carving or shaping wood, stone, clay, metal, etc.
=> He collects modern sculpture.
16. Look ahead (phv): nhìn về phía trước/lên kế hoạch trong tương lai/to think about what is
going to happen in the future.
=> We are trying to look ahead and see what our options are.
17. Maze (noun) /meɪz/: mê cung/a system of paths separated by walls or hedges built in a
park or garden, that is designed so that it is difficult to find your way through.
=> We got lost in the maze.
18. Hedge (noun) /hedʒ/: hàng rào/a row of bushes or small trees planted close together,
usually along the edge of a field, garden or road.
=> A privet hedge.
19. Craft (noun) /krɑːft/: nghề thủ công/an activity involving a special skill at making things
with your hands.
=> Traditional crafts.
20. Set off (phv): bắt đầu chuyến đi/to begin a journey.
=> We set off for London just after ten minutes.
