How is it better than bus topology

What is a network topology
A network topology refers to the arrangement and
interconnection of devices within a network. It defines how
devices such as computers, servers, switches, and hubs are
organized and connected to each other to facilitate
communication and data exchange.
These types of network arrangement allows for efficient
communication, reliability, and ease of management within the
network.
How does star topology work
All devices in the network connect directly to
the central node, establishing a centralized
architecture.
Each device has its own dedicated connection
to the central node, ensuring reliable and
efficient data transmission.
Data traffic is directed through the central node,
which manages the flow of information to and
from connected devices.
Advantages
Each device in a star network has its own dedicated connection
to the central hub. This isolation ensures that if one device or
connection fails, it does not affect the functionality of other
devices in the network Star networks are
Easy expansion capability allows for the addition of new commonly large

Centralized data transmission through the central hub well as home networks.
enhances network security in star topology. Data flows directly
between devices and the central hub, reducing the risk of
unauthorized access or interception
Disadvantages
Each device needing its own connection to the central
node leads to a significant amount of cabling. This not
only complicates network setup and maintenance but
also increases costs

All communication in the network relies on the central

node. If it fails, the entire network can become non-
functional, introducing a single point of failure..
How is it better than Bus
topology
Each device in a star topology has its own dedicated connection
to the central node, ensuring faster and more efficient data
transmission compared to bus topology. This results in improved
network performance and reduced data collisions, especially in
networks with high traffic.
With each device having its own connection to the central hub,
it's easier to implement security measures at the central node.
This helps in protecting the network from unauthorized access or
data breaches.
