The Perfect Bow

by SkyBlueandBlack

I've seen a number of patterns for bows,

but... I don't mean to sound picky, but none
of them seem to look quite right. So I
played around a bit and came up with this.

Materials:
Yarn – I used a Red Heart worsted weight
red for the example, but I've used other
brands and other weights. It's up to you.
Hook – Again, although I used a size I
(5.5mm) for the main bow and G (4mm) for
the center band, it's up to you. Use
whatever size is appropriate to your yarn
and convenient for you.

Directions:
Chain 30, join with slip stitch to create a loop.
Round 1:
CH 1. SC in same ST, and in the next 2 STs. HDC in the next 10 STs. SC in the next 5 STs. HDC in the
next 10 STs. SC in the next 2 STs, SL ST to join to the first SC.
Rounds 2-3:
Repeat round 1.
Round 4:
CH 1. SC in the same ST and in the next 2 STs. HDC in the next 8 STs. HDC in back loop only of the
next 2 STs. SC in back loop only of the next 5 STs. HDC in back loop only of the next 2 STs. HDC in
the next 8 STs. SC in the last 2 STs, SL ST to join to the first SC.
Round 5:
Repeat round 4.
Rounds 6-7:
Repeat round1.
Finish, weave in ends.

Leaving a few inches in the tail, chain 11.

Row 1:
SC in 2nd CH from hook, and in the next 9 Sts.
Row 2:
CH 1. Rotate piece 180˚. SC 10.
Finish.
Wrap second piece around the middle of the first, using the beginning and end tails to pull tight.
Tie off, weave in ends.

Voilà. Z
