Brigada Eskwela 2023: A Community United for Education

August 14-19, 2023 – Brigada Eskwela 2023 has once again demonstrated
the power of community collaboration at San Jose Central Elementary School.
This annual event, held from August 14-19, 2023 brought together teachers,
students, parents, and local volunteers to prepare the school for the upcoming
academic year. With the theme “Bayanihan Para sa MATATAG na Paaralan,” the
event underscored the spirit of bayanihan and collective effort to ensure a
conducive learning environment for all students.
Throughout the week, everyone engaged in various activities, including
classroom cleaning, painting, repairs, and gardening. The school's grounds were
buzzing with activity as people of all ages worked side by side, embodying the
essence of community solidarity. One of the highlights of Brigada Eskwela 2023
was the of every classroom. Parents and teacherss not only cleaned and
reorganized the classrooms but also prepared the entire school.
Boosting Reading: Catch-up Friday

February 2, 2023 – San Jose Central Elementary School Implemented Deped
Memorandum 001 s. 2024 ( Implementation of Catch-up Fridays). Everyone not
only pupils but teachers as well is excited for the new program. The program is
implemented every Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon,
wherein pupils from Kinder to Grade6 are categorized into 3 (Enhancenment,
Consolidation and Intevention). The said program is implemented until the end of
school year.

Ang pagbabasa ay napaka-importante lalo na sa mga kabataan. Nagbibigay
ito ng linaw at paliwanag sa mga bagay-bagay. Kumusta na kaya ang antas ng
pagbabasa ng ating kabataan ngayon?
Nabahala na ang Departamento ng Edukasyon dahil sa mga reports na mas
marami ang nahihirapan sa pagbabasa kesa sa paggamit ng teknolohiya. Sa
katunayan saan mang dako ako pumunta ay abala ang mga kabataan sa
pagsisigawa habang naglalaro ng Mobile Legends habang ang mga kababaihan
naman ay pa kembot-kembot habang nagtitiktok. Maging ang mga nakakatanda ay
nakangiti habang nanonood ng facebook.
Ayon sa mga pag-aaral, ang antas ng pagbabasa ng mga kabataan ngayon ay
isang malaking isyu sa edukasyon sa bansa. Napansin korin na ang antas ng
pagbabasa ng mga kabataan ngayon ay napakababa. Mas maraming silang
naglalaan ng oras sa mga teknolohiya at social media kaysa sa pagbabasa ng mga
aklat.
Totoo namang marami ang nagagawa ng teknolohiya at nakakapaunlad ito
ng isang bansa. Lumalago ang ekonomiya at mga imprastraktura ng dahil sa
teknolohiya. Sa kabilang dako naman dahil sa teknolohiya ay maraming oras ang
nasasayang ng tao at nakakatamad pa ang ito. Kailangan talagang maibalik ang
pagmamahal ng mga bata sa pagbabasa.
Responsibilidad ng mga magulang at paaralan na maging modelo at magturo
ng kahalagahan ng pagbabasa sa mga kabataan. Kailangan rin ng mga magulang na
mailayo ang kanilang mga anak sa mga gadgets o social media, upang maibalik
ang pagmamahal ng mga bata sa pagbabasa. Isa itong malaking hamon hindi lang
nga mga magulang at paaralan kundi ng buong komonidad.
Ikaw, ako, tayo! Dapat nating maging modelo. Simulan na nating ibalik ang
pagmamahal ng kabataan sa pagbabasa. Mas lalago at aasenso tayong lahat kung
naisasapuso natin ang pagmamahal sa pagbabasa.
Shaping Future Journalist: SJCES Secures RSPC 2023

The Regional Schools Press Conference on April 9-10, 2024 take place in
Talisay, Cebu where pupils from different regions compete for the best campus
journalist. The province of Negros Oriental sends representative ready to compete
for the regional level. A total of 7,300 competitors came across the country.
Participants also had the opportunity to showcase their talents through
various competitions, including editorial writing, news reporting, and editorial
cartooning. Everyone was well prepared and trained for their specific event. You
can see the determination and willingness on their faces.
Teachers and advisers who accompanied the students praised the conference
for its comprehensive approach to journalism education. This provides pupils not
only knowledge in journalism but also experience and encouragement to pursue
their interests in campus journalism.
Dancing Colors during Mapeh Day 2023

Extravagat talents are witnessed during the Mapeh Day at San Jose Central
Elementary School at March 22, 2024. Teachers, Parents and pupils are wearing
big smiles not by the hot weather but by the excitement to showcase their talents.
It is mostly done with different dances. These includes music, arts, physical
education, and health. This is one of the activities that students enjoy and have fun.
Not just that, this also includes grades on mapeh, and will add more points on that
various subject!
The activity started by having a parade around the village of the San Jose
then back to the campus, only higher grades are included at the parade to ensure
safety. Many pupils were so excited to present after it.
SJCES Dance Troop set the fire on stage with their production number.
Followed by the kindergarten with their dance number Mickey Mouse dance. Their
parents were surely proud to watch their little kids . Followed by Grades 1,2,3,4,5
and 6 with vvarious types of dance from moder to folk dance
Pupils danced gracefully, many were amazed, and many had smiles on their
faces. MAPEH day only happens in once in a year and a way to enjoy. Though it
can be tiring, but it was worth the shot.
MAPEH day is also a way to help you enhance your skills and ability not
only in dancing but also other aspects.
Empowering Futures: Career Day 2023

October 23, 2024 – The annual Career Day event at San Jsoe Central
Elmentray School saw an enthusiastic turnout as students from all grades
participated in a day filled with inspiration, learning, and future planning.
The event, held in the SJCES Stage, the activity started by singing the
Philippine National Anthem led by our Master Teacher II, Mrs. Salvina A. Tubac.
Our school principal Fe G. Balos, EdD shares her opening remarks which brings
hope and postive vibes to everyone. Pupils from all grade levels showcased their
careers on stage for everyone to admire.
Pagbabago sa pamumuhay pagkatapos ng pandemya

Ang Pandemya na dulot ng Covid 19 ay nanalanta sa taong 2019. Isa itong
delikado at nakakatakot na sakit na nakakamatay. Ang sakit na ito ay nagmula sa
Tsina.
Nang mangyari ito ay halos lahat ng mga tao ay nahihirapan sa mga
panahong iyon. Nagbigay ito ng dahilan upang tumigil ang mundo at manatili sa
kani-kanilang bahay ang mga tao. Ang iba sa kanila ay nahihirapan hindi sa sakit
kundi dahil sa gutom. Nahihirapan ang lahat dahil sa wala na ngang ayuda ay wala
pang trabaho. Nagbibigay man ang gobyerno ng mga ayuda ngunit kulang lamang
ang mga ito.
Sa larangan namana ng edukasyon ay napahinto sa pag-aaral ang lahat.
Nanatili ang mga kabataan sa kani-kanilang mga bahay. Ang iba ay naghahanap ng
mga mapaglilibangan tulad ng pagbabasa, pagsusulat habang ang iba naman ay
nalulong sa paglalaro ng mga online games.
Ang pandemya ay nagbigay ng malaking pagbabago sa lahat. Naway tuluyan
ng nakagangon ang lahat at patuloy sa pag abot ng ating mga pangarap at adhikain
sa buhay.
Rising Athletes: SJCES Hooks CVIRAA 2024

Students from San Jose Central Elementary School showcased their athletic
skills during the Negros Oriental AthleticsAssociation Meet on March -8, 2024.
Series of events are participated by athletes from various districts of Negros
Orientl.
Competing athleted from various districts, San Jose Central athletes
conquered the track and field events in athletics securing the spot for the CVIRAA
2024 at. Samantha Ariel Fabugais, a thrower garnered gold for Javelin throw and
Joan A. Torres, a sprinter achieves gold for 400m Hurdles.
“ I’ve waited for this day, I trained a lot. I do jog every morning and
afteernoon just to prepare myself for this day. I can’t believe I made it for
CVIRAA 2024” Joan A. Torres added. Samantha Ariel Fabugais qouted “ I
prepared a lot for this. My plan is to go to Cebu for CVIRAA 2024 and Wow!
With God’s grace I was able to do it. The coaches added “ we we’re surprised for
we lack training due to time constraints and hectic class schedules. It was really
their fihgting spirit guided by God’s grace that made them achieve all of it”.
The event concluded with the awarding of medals and certificates. The joy
and exctement can be seen throught the athletes’ eyes and their eagerness to
conquer for the upcoming CVIRAA Meet 2024. The athletes returned home
carrying with them valueable experience and lesson they can use in the future.
