HOW MY PAST EXPERIENCES HAVE PREPARED YOU TO BE ENGAGED IN DIVERSITY, EQUITY

AND INCLUSION AT SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE.

As a 19-year-old with a passion for becoming a civil engineer, I believe my past experiences
have prepared me to be engaged in diversity, equity, and inclusion at Saint Anselm College.

Throughout my high school years, I've been fortunate to be exposed to a diverse range of
people, cultures, and perspectives. Whether it was working on group projects, participating
in extracurricular activities, or collaborating with classmates from different backgrounds,
these experiences have helped me develop a deep appreciation for diversity.

Moreover, my strong academic record, particularly in mathematics and science subjects, has
allowed me to understand the importance of equality and inclusivity within the field of
engineering. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their background or identity, should
have equal opportunities to pursue their passions and contribute to society.

In addition, I've actively engaged in engineering-related projects at science fairs, where I had
the chance to work with students from various schools and communities. These experiences
have taught me the value of collaboration, empathy, and respect for different perspectives.
I've learned to appreciate the unique strengths that each individual brings to the table,
contributing to a more inclusive and equitable environment.

At Saint Anselm College, I am excited to continue my journey of personal growth and

academic excellence. I aspire to be part of the honors program, where I can expand my
knowledge, engage in meaningful research, and have the opportunity to foster diversity and
inclusion within the engineering community.

Overall, my dedication, hard work, attention to detail, and effective communication skills,
combined with my commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, have prepared me to
actively contribute to the vibrant and inclusive community at Saint Anselm College.

I'm really looking forward to making a positive difference and embracing the diverse
perspectives that the college has to offer.
