Introduction to Indian music
India's music is one of the world's longest unbroken musical traditions. The origins of this
system can be traced back to the Vedas. There are numerous legends about the origins and
development of Indian classical music. Such legends demonstrate the significance of music in
Indian culture. The Sama Veda, which contains the slokas that were put to music, can be
credited with starting the history of Indian music. Vedic hymns are still spoken at religious
ceremonies with the correct accent and pitch. The sage Narada Muni is credited with bringing
the art of music to Earth. The sound that permeates the cosmos, Naada brahma, was another
concept he shared with the locals. Indian heritage and culture have always included music. It
has been used as a spiritual tool for realising god as well as a kind of public entertainment.
Modern historical and cultural research has also provided a valuable perspective on the area,
demonstrating that Indian music evolved as a result of a highly complicated interaction
between diverse peoples of various races and civilizations. The ethnic variety of modern-day
India appears to have existed since the beginning of time. Singeet is the foundation of Indian
music. Sangeet is a fusion of three different art forms: vocal music, instrumental music, and
dance.
