Global Warming

Introduction

Global warming refers to the long-term rise in Earth’s

average temperature due to human activities, mainly the
release of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO₂),
methane (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O). It is one of the
most serious environmental issues today.

Causes of Global Warming

Burning of Fossil Fuels – Coal, oil, and gas release large

amounts of CO₂ into the atmosphere.
Deforestation – Cutting down trees reduces oxygen
production and increases CO₂ levels.
Industrial Activities – Factories and power plants release
harmful gases.
Agricultural Practices – Use of fertilizers and livestock
farming produce methane.
Pollution – Vehicle emissions and plastic waste contribute
to the problem.
Effects of Global Warming

Climate Change – Rising temperatures cause extreme

weather like heatwaves and storms.
Melting Ice Caps – Glaciers and polar ice caps are
melting, raising sea levels.
Loss of Biodiversity – Many animals lose their habitats
due to deforestation.
Droughts and Floods – Changes in rainfall patterns cause
water scarcity or heavy floods.
Health Problems – Air pollution leads to respiratory
diseases and heat-related illnesses.

Solutions to Reduce Global Warming

✅ Use Renewable Energy – Solar, wind, and hydroelectric

power reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
✅ Plant More Trees – Trees absorb CO₂ and help cool the
Earth.
✅ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Less waste production leads
to lower pollution levels.
✅ Save Electricity – Turning off lights and using energy-
efficient appliances can help.
✅ Use Public Transport – Reducing car use lowers
emissions.
✅ Spread Awareness – Educating people about global
warming encourages action.

Conclusion
Global warming is a major threat to our planet. By taking
small steps in our daily lives, we can help protect the
environment and ensure a better future for the next
generations.
