Via del Corso Via di Ripetta
Running almost due south from Piazza The third spoke of the Piazza del Popolo’s
del Popolo is the Via del Corso. It cuts Il Tridente is the Via di Ripetta, heading
laser-like through the very heart of southeast, towards the River Tiber and
the city, following the course of the on to the sacred city of the Vatican. The
2200-year-old Via Flaminia, the route Via di Ripetta also leads to my favourite
along which the legions marched heading Rome, the Rome where the past and
north and along which they returned, the present coexist in a most dramatic
proclaiming Rome’s glory. Go to the and intimate manner: narrow rows of
east, along Via delle Muratte, and you artisan shops nestling within the shadow
suddenly find yourself in front of the of a rearing palazzo; a mighty church
triumphal façade and fresh waters of juxtaposed in dramatic contrast with
the Trevi Fountain, which still manages cramped alleys; swirling patterns of eager
to rise above the hordes of tourists that pedestrians and scooters throbbing and
engulf it. revving as they weave through the city.
