Grammar and Punctuation

Sentence Structure and Clarity

Introduction
Does the essay have a clear and engaging introduction?
Is the introduction clear, concise, and directly related to the content that follows?
Does the introduction provide sufficient background information about the novel?

Body Paragraphs
Does each paragraph focus on a single clear idea?
Are topic sentences present and aligned with the thesis?
Are textual evidence (quotes or examples) included to support the arguments?
Is the evidence analysed effectively (not just summarized)?
Are the paragraphs well-organized and logically connected?

Conclusion
Does the conclusion summarize the main points effectively?
Does it restate the thesis in a fresh way?
Does it leave the reader with a strong final impression or insight?

Writing Style and Tone


Is the tone formal and objective?
Are the sentences clear and varied in structure?
Are transitions used effectively to link ideas and paragraphs?

Grammar
Are there any grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors?
Is the essay free from slang or informal language?
