The American colonies have been left alone for a while, so they start to rule themselves

basically. However, England suddenly comes out of nowhere creating committees to

administrate the colonies and tax them.

The colonies are not happy about this and quarrel with England in small ways. Nothing

comes of this though, because the colonies quarrel with each other as well. Later Benjamin

Franklin would once say: "We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all

hang separately."

More people started migrating to the colonies because British laws stifled some of their

businesses. However, the colonies stayed united with England until after the Seven years war.
