From farm to cup: coffee process

Coffee is a popular drink enjoyed by people all over the world. But have you ever wondered how
it's made? Coffee production starts on a farm, where coffee plants are grown. These plants need a
warm climate, high altitude, and good soil to grow properly.

Once the coffee cherries have ripened, they are picked from the plants by hand or by machine.
This is called harvesting. The cherries are then processed to remove the outer layer, revealing the
coffee beans inside. There are two main methods of processing: the washed method and the dry
method.

After processing, the beans are sorted and graded by size, weight, and quality. The beans are
then shipped to roasters around the world. The roasting process is what gives coffee its distinct flavor
and aroma. The beans are roasted at high temperatures, which changes their color and taste.
Once the beans are roasted, they are ground into coffee grounds. These grounds are then
brewed with hot water to make coffee. There are many ways to brew coffee, such as using a drip
coffee maker, French press, or espresso machine.

In summary, coffee production starts on a farm where coffee plants are grown, and the coffee
cherries are harvested and processed. The beans are then sorted, roasted, and ground to make
coffee. Finally, the coffee is brewed with hot water to make the drink that we all know and love.
