3. Class description:
- Number of students: 25
- Grade: 6
- General student characteristics: energetic, talkative, loves games, moves
around freely a lot
- Classroom setting:
Students were seated individually facing the teacher (5 rows, 4 columns):
Students could move around easily and quickly to form groups/ pairs for the
activities.
The classroom is equipped with a projector, a blackboard, and speakers to
support learning.
- Level of English proficiency: B1

5. Learning objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
a. Knowledge
- List specific popular activities during Tet from the passages and their
experiences
- Retrieve what to do and what to avoid during Tet
b. Core competences
- Read for specific information in passages of 106 words and A2 level about
activities during Tet
- Write statements about their activities during Tet
- Engage in role-playing to introduce cultural norms during Tet to foreigners
using self-crafted informative posters
c. Attributes
- Cultivate cultural awareness by recalling and retaining information about
traditional practices during Tet
- Develop a keen interest in traditional holidays in Vietnam

- Ss have some background knowledge of New Year celebrations in Vietnam,
the US, the UK and China.
- Ss are familiar with the scanning technique from previous reading lessons.

do during Tet holiday.
