Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE)

• Introduction :-

The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) helps the students


primarily to understand the rural situations, status of Agricultural
technologies adopted by farmers, prioritize the farmer's problems and to
develop skills & attitude of working with farm families for overall
development in rural area
• Objectives of RAWE :-

1. To provide opportunity for practical training to


develop communication skill with farmer.
2. To make the farmer familiar with the socio-economic
situation of the village.
3. To gain knowledge and experience on the opinion and
aspects of agricultural technology being used by the
farmers.
4. To develop confidence and competence in students
for solving problems related to agriculture.
5. To make students understand the role of men and
women in agriculture and allied sectors.
DAY 1 :- Orientation programme
- On first day all students reached at KVK and whole KVK members
welcomed us heartedly.
- The general overview of RAWE was explained by the rawe incharge
and asst. in-charge.
- The scientist Dr. R. Raghav sir
provides us the details about
RAWE activities that we have to
do during whole RAWE
programe and he suggested us
about village attachment & AIA.
- Also the veterinary scientist Dr. A. Gupta shared some information
about animal husbandry .
DAY 2 :- Work at KVK, Naktara

• A brief lecture on RAWE and how to perform the survey was


given by the incharge .
• The lecture included all the important details of the
programme.
DAY 3 :- Work at KVK, Naktara

• A brief introduction about AIA was organized by the incharge.


• AIA stands for Agro-Industrial Attachment.
• It is an in-plant training which provides industrial exposure. It
enhances the practical skills.
• It also introduces various, tools, machinery, processes and

• Introduction with Soybean crop in the field.


• RAWE incharge gave a general infromation about the crop plant.
DAY 5 :- Work at KVK, Naktara
• The soybean variety was RVS-76 and RVSM-1135. They are
HYV Varieties. • Explanation about harmful insects, beneficial
insects, and also harmful effects of chemicals on crop
plants.

• Intoduction with turmeric and ginger crops.


• A brief information about the crops was given by the incharge.
DAY 6 :- Work at KVK, Naktara
• Field work was performed, hand weeding was done.

• Introduction with paddy crop on field.
• Analysis of the paddy plant.
• Variety JR-206 and PUSA1692, suitable for both rainfed and
irrigated conditions.
• It has long, bold grains.

• Description of marigold and tomato crop plants in the field.
• Micro irrigation methods are used for irrigation.
• Polythene mulch was used for inhibition of growth of unwanted
plants.

• General information about RAWE manual, how to maintain
manual and daily diary.
• Allotment of villages to the students.
• Group formation according to village.

• Introduction with the village officials.
• Bacic information about the purpose of our visit.

Awareness on lumpy virus disease in


village
• Firstly we attend the online programme on
lumpy skin disease in animals, held by KVK
RAISEN.
• The veterinary scientist Dr. A. Gupta gave us
information about the disease.
• He gave information like symptoms,
precations,disinfection, control, vaccination.
• Then we go to village and aware the farmers
about the virus.

FIELD VISIT
• On that day we visit the field of farmer On the
field the crop was paddy.
• And the variety of paddy is Pusa Basmati (PB 1).
• The farmer is spraying insecticide and fungicide in
his field .
• And the mixture of insecticide is Pymetrozine
Cypermethin+ PROFENOPHOS and fungicide is
TUBECONAZOLE .
