ACTIVITY - 1

PROMOTING THE SWACCH BHARAT INITIATIVE BY

CLEANING VILLAGE TEMPLE

It is very much necessary to maintain sanitation in our surroundings to lead a

proper healthy and harmless life. So, we decided to clean the surroundings of
savlanga near temples surroundings on 04/03/2024 as it was one ofthe hotspot
of tourists in Shivamogga and it is needed to be maintained regularly. We
collected papers, plastic covers and we cleaned falled leafes from the tree etc,
and carried it to the village outskirts and dumped in waste yard. We were
inspired to clean the surrounding by an initiative called Swachh Bharat mission
by Central Government of India.

HELPING LOCAL SCHOOLS TO ACHIEVE GOOD RESULT

AND ENHANCE THEIR ENROLMENT IN HIGHER /
TECHNICAL / VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

The purpose of career and technical education is to provide a foundation of

skills that enable primary school students to be gainfully employed after
graduation–either full-time or while continuing their education or training.
Nearly two-thirds of all graduates of career and technical programs enter some
form of post-secondary program.
The students to bring the awareness among the rural students subject areas
most commonly associated with career and technical education are: business
(office administration, entrepreneurship); trade and industrial (e.g., automotive
technician, carpenter, computer numerical control technician); health occupations
(nursing, dental, and medical technicians); agriculture (food and fibre production,
agribusiness); family and consumer sciences (culinary arts, family management
and life skills); marketing (merchandising, retail) and technology (computer-
based careers). 06/04/2024 , savlanga

ACTIVITY – 3

TO ASSIST THE MARKETING OF RURAL PRODUCE

The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of marketing strategies on rural
India and shift of multi national corporations concentration towards the Indian
rural market. But often, rural marketing is confused with agricultural marketing
Particular emphasis is placed on the impact of the four A’s principles on the rural
economy and its participants, namely farmers, landless laborers and marketing
intermediaries. The marketing had a positive effect on all these participants
through the creation of vast marketing opportunities.
The driving force of this success was “market forces,”
generating virtuous cycles in the transition marketing. At the same time, the
“absence of bad marketing policy” is emphasized as a key for the success in the
context of India , often resulted in success of rural marketing in India. The Indian
rural market is observed as a high potential market across the world.

ACTIVITY – 4

Provided education on marketing their agricultural and animal

products.

Agricultural marketing includes all activities which add value to agricultural

and animal products as they move from areas of agricultural and animal
production to ultimate consumption points. An effective and efficient marketing
system is required in order to ensure fair returns to stakeholders but
unfortunately little attention was paid to this sector in India. This resulted in
welfare risk to stakeholders as price variation and value are common
phenomena in the country. Public and private sectors jointly run agricultural
marketing systemin the country, as public sector is responsible for framing and
implementing rules and regulation whereas private sector operates the system.
Agricultural markets are governed under the Agricultural and Animal Produce
Markets Ordinance 1978 which needs to be updated. Due to poor post-harvest
management practices, almost 25-40% produce is wasted which caused
considerable value losses. In this chapter, an effort has been made to describe
theoretical foundation of agricultural and animal marketing along with
highlighting the marketing systemof major and minor agricultural commodities
in India and the role of various institutions and regulations. Marketing
efficiency is often understood in terms of marketing margins, physicallosses and
state of market competition. Further, a section is devoted to identify major
agricultural and animal product marketing problems with their possible
solutions.

CONCLUSION

As an undergraduate of the JNNCE (Department of civil engineering) I

would like to saythat this Activity program is an excellent opportunity for us
to get to the ground level and experience the things that we would have never
gained. I am grateful to the SAVLANGA VILLAGE for giving me this
wonderful opportunity.
The main objective of this training is to provide an opportunity to
undergraduates to identify, observe and practice how engineering is
applicable in the real society. It is not only to get experience on technical
practices but also to observe management practices and to interact with the
people. It is easy to work with sophisticated mechanics, but with people. The
only chance that an undergraduate has to have this experience is the AICTE
Activity. I feel I got the maximum out of that experience. Also I learnt the
way of work in an organization, the importance of being punctual, the
importance of maximum commitment, and the importance ofteam spirit.

In my opinion, I have gained lots of knowledge and experience

needed to successful in great engineering challenge, as in my opinion,
Engineering is after all a challenge, not a job.
