Introduction
This document will be discussed. Switzerland is little but full of impressionnant things, and is
located in the center of Europe. Although this country does not have a beach because it is
enclosed by other countries (Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein). This country has
beautiful places such as high mountains to Vast Lake and Green Valley. Is known around the
world for its watches , delicious chocolates and the politics for neutrality.
Switzerland has four official languages. German, France, Italian and Romanche exhibit their
diversity in terms of culture.
Switzerland has many cities but consider Zurich, Ginebre, Basel, and Bern the main cities in this
country for being financial centers and technologies within the country as they have grown in the
last years.
Switzerland has a personality, a proper style and everyone can notice in the cities. Zurich is the
biggest city and it's an important financial center. This is because this city has important banks
and technology companies. This country has a great cultural life with museums, galleries and a
lot of things to discover. The city is next to Lake Zurich which is great for outdoor activities
during the summer.
Ginebra for the other side. has an environment and tradition. This city is construyed like a
medieval city. Its architecture is that the city is very nice and was named for the World Heritage
City. Another city is Basel, this city is known and is on the border at Germany and France and is
famous for the arts museums and one of the most prestigious arts fairs in the world, ArtBasel.
Zurich
Zurich is the financial capital of Switzerland, a city with a lot of universities and is one of the
most iconic cities in Europe. Is the perfect place to start in Switzerland. Some of the more
important aspects in Zurich include admirate the daily life and interest in museums with the
Switzerland National Museum,The Grossmunster Cathedral in the center of the city and to taste
the gastronomy with the cheese fondue.
Zurich , is the heart of Switzerland and the center of Europe, is the most famous and important
financial center in the world.
Have a unique mixture of a well-preserved old town and modern, bustling life. with the excellent
view of the Switzerland Alps. Zurich in recent years is considered the city with the highest life
level in the world.
The city is beautiful and compact with the colorful north shores in Lake Zurich. The location is
perfect to take beautiful photos. In climate conditions it can be seen the Swiss Alps on the other
side of the Lake.
In the 1200s, Zurich was one of the cities with the most potable water sources and one of the
cities with more fountains in the world. Also multiple public parks dominate the zone in the city,
with the park ¨Platzpitz¨.
In the center of Zurich is the best place to start the tour. There are too many places in Zurich to
visit and to know about the area in Interest. These include 50 museums and 100 galleries and art,
so people do not have time for boring.
Zurich discovered the secrets and beauty in the Renaissance period. To experience the living
history in the antique buildings and walk in the streets.
Geneva
Geneva is more than just the city of watches and international diplomacy. This city has a long
history that goes back to the Roman Empire. It offers visitors a mix of culture, nature, and simple
luxury.
The old town of Geneva, called La Vieille Ville, is full of history and charm. Visitors can walk
through its small cobbled streets, see famous buildings, little squares, and unique museums.
There are secret passages, and the town has 2,000 years of history. From St. Peter's Cathedral,
which is the main building in the area, you can see amazing views of Geneva. The cathedral is
also an important Protestant place.
The oldest square in Geneva is Bourg-de-Four. It was a market in the past, and now it is a lively
place. You can feel the energy of the city here. The area has narrow houses built for refugees
who came to Geneva in the 17th century. Under the streets, there are tunnels that were used in
the past for escape and protection. Many old buildings have been replaced by newer ones from
the 1970s, but Geneva still keeps its charm. At the end of the street, you can find the Old
Quarter, where historic buildings show the city’s beauty and history. This area, also called
Bel-Air, is near Lake Geneva. It is a great place to walk or shop.
Every street in Geneva tells a story. Streets like Market Street are not only roads but also special
places. Walking here is a unique experience that you will always remember.
Basel
Basel, Switzerland, is located at the meeting point of Switzerland, Germany and France. Basel is
not just another city, it is an experience. With its rich mix of art, history and culture, it has great
stories in the city. You do not have to be a travel expert for enjoy to Basel. In the calm Rhine
River, Basel boasts an eclectic mix of art galleries, historical monuments and delicious food. In
which each street has a story, each square resonates with music and each building is a testimony
of its rich history. From its world-famous art scene to its greatest food markets, Basel is a
cultural city with more than 40 museums, the most of population. It is the oldest university city
in the country. The main places to visit are the big market square, the red town hall made of
sandstone, and the cathedral, which has Romanesque and Gothic styles. When you walk in the
old town, you will find old bookstores and modern shops. You should also visit "Läckerli Huus"
to try the traditional honey and spice cakes. Basel has many modern buildings by famous
architects like Herzog & de Meuron and Mario Botta. Basel is also a green city. The botanical
gardens, Merian Gardens, parks, and the river Rhine invite you to visit. The zoo has a special
house, the Etoschahaus, where you can see the savanna of Namibia. You can explore the city
easily by walking or biking. There are four ferries on the Rhine that connect Grossbasel and
Kleinbasel.Near Basel, in Augusta Raurica, there are ruins and a museum that shows Roman
history in the area. There is a place in Basel, called "Baselbiet," that has many cherry trees in
spring and is beautiful.
Bern
Bern is the capital of Switzerland and one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Is famous
for its historic center. It is very old but very loved. Many people visit Bern because the streets are
full of charm and its special architecture.
In the historic center of Bern, one can see buildings of different ages. There are many arched
walkways where people can walk even if it rains. Those walkways measure 6 km long in total
and it is a good experience to walk there.
The transport in Bern is good. There are buses, trains, which help people move throughout the
city. Is easy and fast to go to another place and the people prefer to use bicycles for the routes
because Bern has many roads secure for cyclists.
Bern is a clean city and very worried for the environment. In this city the people are very
important to recycle and to take care of nature. The city has a lot of green zones and parks where
the people can be able to walk and enjoy the outdoors.
The quality of life is high in this city. Is a relaxed place, secure and has good service to health
and education. People in Bern enjoy a relaxed life, close to nature and the most opportunities for
studies and work.
Weather in switzerland
Northern Switzerland
In the north, cities like Zurich and Basel have a continental climate. Winters are cold (from -2°C
to 5°C), and summers are warm (from 18°C to 30°C) with rainstorms. Cold winds from northern
Europe make winter feel even colder.
Southern Switzerland
The south, especially Ticino, has a Mediterranean climate. Winters are mild (rarely below 0°C),
and summers are warmer and dry (from 20°C to 32°C). The Alps block cold winds, so it’s
sunnier and drier than the north.
Seasonal Weather in Switzerland
Spring (March to May): Temperatures are mild (8°C to 15°C), with flowers blooming. It
rains more in the north. The south is warmer and drier.
Summer (June to August): In the north, summer is warm and rainy, with short afternoon
storms. In the south, it is hot (up to 32°C) and dry, great for lakeside activities.
Autumn (September to November): Temperatures get cooler (10°C to 20°C), and trees
change color. It rains more in the north, but the south stays warmer with some rain.
Winter (December to February): The north is cold (-2°C to 5°C) with snow, especially in
the mountains. In the south, it is warmer, with less snow but sometimes snow in the Alps.
Conclusion
Switzerland is a country with incredible cities, each one with its historic, lifestyle and
characteristics. Zurich is the financial center of Switzerland, a modern city with historic
buildings, museums and the famous Grossmünster Cathedral. It also has a nice view of the Alps.
Geneva is famous for being in a cosmopolitan city and the Lake plays an important role in world
diplomacy. Basel has many museums and the lively art scenes and they celebrate the Fasnacht
Carnival. Finally, Bern, the capital, has a lot of old architecture, covered walkways and many
parks. Some are worried for the environment and the quality of life.
In the winters the climate in this county varies by region and altitude. Predominate the cold
climate for the mountains and snow but same have mild climates in summer for the valleys and
lowlands. These cities are special and show the mixture of the culture, historic, nature and the
modernity that makes Switzerland a unique country.
