LSU 2022 Undergraduate & Postgraduate Admissions
Lupane State University is inviting applications for admission to the listed Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes from
candidates who meet the specified entry requirements, programmes commencing in August 2022.
LUPANE CAMPUS
1
Biology, Geography, Business Studies/Management of Business, Accounts, Release
Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics and Food Science; OR
A relevant National Diploma or its equivalent.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science 4 years
Degree In Applied subject. Applicants must have obtained at least 2 ‘A’ level passes in either Conventional/ Block
Biotechnology Biology, Agriculture, Food Science or Chemistry. Applicants with a relevant Release
Diploma from a recognised institution will also be considered for Special
entry.
Bachelor of Agricultural 5‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science 4 years
Sciences Honours Degree in subject. Applicants must have obtained at least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Conventional/
Horticulture and Landscaping Biology/Agriculture and either Mathematics, Geography, Food Science, Block Release
Physics or Chemistry. A relevant Diploma from a recognised institution will
also be considered for Special entry.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5’O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science 4 years
Degree in Food Science and subject; and at least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in either Biology, Agriculture, Food Conventional/Block
Agricultural Processing Science or Chemistry and any of the following subjects; Mathematics, release
Physics; Geography.
OR
A relevant Diploma in any of the following: Agriculture, Livestock
Production, Crop Science, Horticulture, Animal Science or Food Science
and Technology.
Bachelor of Agricultural 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics; and 1 year
Sciences Special Honours A Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences General Degree or its equivalent. Conventional/Block
Degree in Animal Science Release
Bachelor of Agricultural 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics; and 1 year
Sciences Special Honours A Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences General Degree with a Lower second Conventional/Block
Degree in Crop Science class or better, or its equivalent. Release
Diploma in Agribusiness Applicants must have passed a minimum of five (5) subjects at Ordinary 1 ½ years
Level including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject at Block Release
grade c or better.
Master of Science in Animal Applicants must have an Honours degree of at least class 2.2 or better in 2 years
Breeding and Biotechnology Agriculture or in the Biological sciences in appropriate areas such as Block Release
Animal Science, Biological Science, Biotechnology and Natural Resources,
or related fields from any accredited University.
Master of Science in Crop Candidates should normally hold an upper second class or first class Honours 2 years
Science (Agronomy/Plant degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Agronomy , Crop Science, Block Release
Breeding) Horticulture or related fields, from this or another recognised institution.

A Relevant National Diploma (ND) in an approved Engineering field or
equivalent and have at least two (2) years relevant industrial experience
Diploma in Court Interpreting 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language; and 1 ½ years
and Translation At least 2’A’ Level passes; OR a Diploma in Applied Language Studies. Block Release
Experience in Court Interpreting will be an added advantage.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics; and At 4 Years
Degree in Natural Resources least 2 ‘A’ Level passes in any of the following core subjects: Geography, Conventional/Block
Management. and any other OR relevant Diploma or its equivalent. Release
Bachelor of Social Science 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Geography and 4 years
Honours Degree in Geography Mathematics; and at least 2 ‘A’ Level passes, one of which must be Conventional/Block
and Population Studies Geography OR an approved Diploma related to Geography and Population Release
Studies.

Bachelor of Science Honours Normal Entry: 5 ‘O’ level passes including English language and any two ‘A’ 4 Years
Degree in Peace and Security level passes. Conventional/Block
Studies Special Entry: Candidates who have attained Level 5 and 6 of the Release
Zimbabwe National Qualifications Framework (ZNQF), awarded by a
recognised university, college or institute.
Mature Entry: 5 ‘O’ level passes including English language and at least 5
years’ experience in the area of Peace. Candidates must be at least 25
years old.
Bachelor of Science Honours Normal Entry: Candidates must have obtained 5 ‘O’ Level passes including 4 years
Degree in Development Geography, English Language and Mathematics passed with at least a Conventional/Block
Studies grade C and two passes in ‘A’ Level subjects or their recognized Release
equivalents;
Special Entry: A candidate must have obtained a Diploma in Development
related discipline or a recognizable relevant qualification from acceptable
institution in which development and/or geosciences issues were
involved.
Mature Entry: A candidate must have 25years of age with relevant
working experience and have passed 5 ‘O’ level subjects including
Geography, English Language and Mathematics passed with at least a
grade C. Must also have relevant experience for at least two years. May be
required to pass a written/ oral entrance examination set by the
University.
Bachelor of Social Science Normal Entry: Candidates must have passed 5 subjects at Ordinary level, 4 years
Honours Degree in including English language with at least a C grade or better. Conventional/Block
Anthropology Release
Candidates must have passed at least two subjects at Advanced level.
One of the subjects should preferably be Geography, History, Language
(any), Sociology, Geography, English literature and Agriculture.
Mature Entry: Mature entry shall be obtained by applicants who have five
(5) ‘O’ levels including English Language and have demonstrable work
experience during the last five years before the academic year in which
admission is sought, and are aged 25 years and above.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Geography and 4 years
Degree in Urban and Regional Mathematics; and at least 2 ‘A’ Level passes including Geography; OR Conventional/Block
Planning A Diploma preferably majoring in urban planning, urban management, Release
social work, local authority administration, housing development, real
estate and property management, physical planning, land management,
environmental management, project and programme management among
others.
Bachelor of Education Degree 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language; and Mathematics. A 3 years
in Agriculture Diploma in Agriculture OR a Diploma Education in which Agriculture is a Block Release

major subject obtained from a recognized institution; or Relevant Working
experience would be an added advantage.
NB: Those without ‘O’ level Mathematics would be required to pass a
bridging course before the beginning of the first semester.
Bachelor of Education Degree 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics; and 3 years
in Geography A Diploma in Education with a specialisation in Geography. Block Release
Normally, an applicant should have 2 years post qualification teaching
experience.
Bachelor of Education 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English; and 3 years
Honours Degree in English A Diploma in Education with a specialisation in English. Block Release
and Communication
Bachelor of Education 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and an African Language. 3 years
Honours Degree in Language A Diploma in Education with a specialisation in Ndebele/Shona or Block Release
and Communication equivalent. Normally, an applicant should have 2 years post qualification
(IsiNdebele) teaching experience.
Bachelor of Education Degree 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics. 3 years
in Mathematics A Diploma in Education with a specialisation in Mathematics. Normally, an Block Release
applicant should have 2 years post qualification teaching experience.
Bachelor of Education Degree 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics. 3 years
in Accounting Diploma in Education in which Accounting is a major subject. Normally Block Release
applicants should have 2 years post qualification teaching experience.
Postgraduate Diploma in 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language. 1 year
Education A Degree from a recognized University reflecting subjects taught in Block Release
Secondary Schools. Normally, an applicant should be employed full time as
a teacher at an approved Secondary School throughout the duration of the
programme.
BULAWAYO CAMPUS
Master of Science Degree in Applicants must hold a good relevant Degree from this or another
Climate Change and recognised University. 1 ½ years
Sustainable Development OR Block Release
Any first Degree plus a relevant Postgraduate Diploma from this or
another recognised University.
Master of Science Degree in Candidates should normally have an Upper Second Class in a relevant
Development Studies Honours Degree from this or another recognized University; OR 1 ½ years
Any first degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies Block Release
from this or another recognized University.
Master of Social Science in Candidates should normally hold an Upper Second class Honours degree in 1 ½ years
Monitoring and Evaluation Monitoring and Evaluation from this or another recognised institution; OR Block Release
any first degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation
from a recognised university.
Bachelor of Science (Special A good first degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Economics, 1 Year
Honours) Degree in Urban Sociology, Architecture or other related fields. Demonstrable experience (Block Release)
Management Studies. or interest in urban management is desirable.
Master of Science in Public Candidates should normally hold an Upper Second class Honours degree in 1 ½ years
Policy and Development Social Sciences or cognate disciplines from this or another recognised Block Release
Management institution; OR any first degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Public
Policy, Development Studies, Sociology, or cognate field.
Bachelor of Science (Special A first degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Health Sciences or a field 1 year
Honours) Degree in relevant to Monitoring and Evaluation. Block Release
Monitoring and Evaluation
Postgraduate Diploma in First degree with at least a 2.2 degree classification in a relevant discipline 1 year
Media and Public Relations or equivalent professional qualification recognised by this University. Block Release
Diploma in Development 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and relevant working 1 year
Studies experience. Block Release

Diploma in Youth and 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and relevant work 1 Year

Postgraduate Diploma in Candidates should normally hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree from this or 1 year
Geographic Information another recognised institution. Relevant fields include, Geography, Block Release
Science and Remote Sensing Environmental Science, Surveying, Engineering, Ecology, Development
Studies, Agriculture, Rural and Urban Planning.
Diploma In Geographic Normal Entry 1 ½ years
Information Science (GIS ) and 5 ‘O’ Level passes including Mathematics, English Language, Geography Block Release
Remote Sensing and any Science subject. A Certificate OR Diploma in any field related to
Geography, Environmental Science or Ecology.
FACULTY OF COMMERCE
Bachelor of Commerce 5 ‘O’ level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a 4 years
Honours Degree in Accounting Science subject passed at grade C or better; and At least 2 ‘A’ level passes Conventional/
and Finance preferably in the following subjects: Accounting, Economics, Management Block Release
of Business, Geography and Mathematics; OR
A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or its
equivalent.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics passed at
Degree in Economics grade C or better ; and At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes; preferably in Economics, 4 years
Mathematics, Accounting, Management of Business, and Geography or Conventional/
any relevant equivalent. Block-Release
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language passed at grade C or better; 4 years
Degree in Hospitality and and At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes preferably in Geography and Business Conventional/Block
Tourism Studies or their recognized equivalents; OR Release
A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality
Management or its equivalent.
Bachelor of Commerce 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a 4 years
Honours Degree in Banking & Science subject passed at grade C or better; and At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes Conventional/
Finance in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Accounting, Economics and Block Release
Business Studies; OR
A National Diploma or a Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance
or their equivalent.
Bachelor of Commerce 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a 4 years
Honours Degree in Real Estate Science subject passed at grade C or better; and At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes; Conventional/
Management preferably in the Commercials; OR Block Release
A relevant National Diploma or a Higher National Diploma.
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language passed at grade C or better; 4 years
Degree in Human Resource and At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes; OR Conventional/
Management A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Block Release

Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics passed at 4 years

Business Management
Bachelor of Science Honours 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics and a 4 years
Degree in Supply Chain Science subject passed at grade C or better; Conventional/ Block
Management At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes, preferably in Management of Business, Release
Business Studies, Accounting, Mathematics; or Computer Science.
A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply
Management, Business Management or equivalent.

Bachelor of Commerce 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language; and 4 years
Honours Degree in Marketing At least 2 ‘A’ Level passes, preferably in Management of Business or any Conventional/
other commercial subjects; OR Block Release
A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Marketing Management
or equivalent.
Bachelor of Commerce Special For entry into the programme, prospective students should hold a 1 year on Block
Honours Degree in business-related degree, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Release
Procurement and Supply (CIPS - Level 6) or any other equivalent qualification.
Chain Management
Master of Business Leadership Candidates should possess a good first degree and work experience. 2 Years
Practitioners in all fields are encouraged to apply. Block Release
Master of Science (MSc) Candidates should possess a good first degree passed with a 2.2 or better 1 ½ years
Degree in Human Resource in Human Resource Management; or Employment Relations, Industrial Block Release
Management Psychology, Business Studies, Business Management, Business
Administration or equivalent. Working experience would be an added
advantage.
Master of Science (MSc) Candidates should possess a good first degree in Accounting and Finance, 2 years
Degree in Accounting and Economics, Banking, Finance, Business Studies, and Accounting or Block Release
Finance equivalent. Working experience would be an advantage.
