Welcome to the 11th Kalutara International Rated Chess Championship proudly organized by
the Super Fighter Chess Club in collaboration with the Kalutara District Chess Association,
Chess Federation of Sri Lanka and FIDE will be held at the White Haven Hotel, Panadura, Sri Lanka
from February 1st to 5th 2025 with Total Cash Pize Rs.1,400,000/- worth.

If player wants to represent Cooperate Sector Organization (CSO) or
Higher Education Institute (HEI),
the player should inform the event organizer before starting the 3rd round.
The player should have a proper approval from the representing CSO/HEI to do so.
There should be minimum 3 players from the same CSO / HEI to claim a team prize.
The team place will be decided by the top five players of the same CSO / HEI.
Only one team place can be claimed by one CSO / HEI. None can represent both categories
Entry Fees
All title players (GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM, WFM) and ratings above 2000 ELO are free
Rating 1800 ELO-1999 ELO: 3,500
Rating 1600 ELO-1799 ELO: 5,000 LKR
Rating below 1600 ELO: 5,500 LKR
Unrated players: 6,500 LKR
All players who register before 15th January 2025
will be given special memento and early bird offer 500 LKR
Travel Grant
GMs, IMs, WGMs WIM having over 2200 ELO (2000 for women) will be given a travel grant of Rs 20,000.00

The bank slip must be presented at the entrance of the tournament hall
before the first round begins. A late fee of Rs. 500 will be charged for entries
received after 25/01/2025. All local players must be registered with the
Chess Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) to participate in this event.
Registration is limited to 800 players, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Both rated and unrated players are encouraged to register early.
Tournament regulations
1. FIDE (International Chess Federation) rules and regulations shall apply.
Results will be sent for FIDE rating calculations.
2. The chief arbiter shall make the announcement, five minutes before the round begins.
3.Players are not allowed to bring mobile phones or any other electronic devices to the tournament hall,
any violation shall result in loss of game.
4.The default time shall be 1 hour and player who arrives at the chessboard after the default time
shall lose the representative game.
5. Officials and players should be smartly attiring all the time while in the tournament hall.
6. For the pairing, Swiss Manager program will be used.
7. Organizers reserve the right to accept or reject any late registrations.
8. All amounts mentioned in this prospectus are in Sri Lankan rupees.
9. Appeals committee – appeals committee shall be selected at the beginning of the tournament.
10.Time control –The time control is 90 minutes for each player
with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
11. Tie breaks will be announced at the technical meeting.
12. A player can claim only one prize in each tournament.
13.Prize money will not be shared.
14. Dress code for all prize winners at the prize giving shall be “Smart Casual”.
Accommodation and Transport
All players with more than 2200 ELO rating will be provided accommodation with three meals
(Air conditioned – DBL sharing) on full board basis.
All players with more than 2000 ELO rating will be provided with accommodation only
(Air conditioned – Room only – DBL sharing)
All other foreign players have to bear their own expenses; we will be glad to assist on requests.
All foreign players are requested to contact tournament organizers directly for
Airport and Local transfers.
All local and foreign players are requested to contact the following official for
accommodation and airport transfers.
APPEALS
1)Protests against the decisions of the Arbiter’s should be submitted to the Appeals Committee.
The protests shall only be submitted in the written form within 15 minutes of the end of the
respective game and shall be accompanied with the proof of the appeal fee (Rs.5000) payment.
2) The selection and appointment of the members of the Appeals Committee are made by the
Organizing Committee. Should the appeal/ protest be upheld the amount will be returned.
