It is not everyone that uses WhatsApp, but Five Billion downloads is pretty impressive to me. It is one of
the Apps with a solid pool of humans.
And that fact brings us to our topic for today.
How can you tap into that pool of humans and create some form of income for yourself.
You may be a casual user of WhatsApp or you may be a part of those people who are always online.
No matter which group that you fall into, I believe that you won’t mind making some sort of income from
an App you use everyday.
Even though it is free to use, you still buy data so that you can remain online.
And one thing I have learnt is that everyone secretly wants to make money on WhatsApp, even those
who claim to just be there for fun or chats.
Right now as I write, there are numerous ponzi groups growing on WhatsApp.
Participants either don’t believe or care that it is a Ponzi scheme. But like all ponzi schemes, we know
that this too shall pass. If they pass what would you use to sustain yourself if you haven’t built
relationship with your viewers?
It is not the first and it shall not be the last.

that I was able to earn that much, despite the present state of the country. As a WhatsApp

And I didn’t make that money by making promises to people that I couldn’t keep.
I simply created what solved the problem of people and they paid to get the solution that I offered.
I ran my first WhatsApp Advert 2018 when I opened my TV in less than a week. I remember it was N500 I
collected and my views were not even up to 100 then but I started getting adverts with some strategies I
put in place.
Little by little I started increasing my Ads fee. Now I collect 5,10-20k for some daily ads and for some ads
N150k monthly for just 1 customer’s advert sometimes.
However, I didn’t start today, it took process.

Buildings an Audience on WhatsApp boils down to one thing.
Providing Value
You may not like to hear this, but making real money takes process.
If you ignore the process because you feel that it is too long, , then you would run around chasing short
term methods till you even lose more time.
I know people who championed MMM in 2016, but they are still broke today and sit around looking for
the next big thing.
If they have devoted that time frame in building something sustainable, they would have a business that
would feed them for life. When I started my TV 2018 I was very broke infact I was pushed to start
a TV by my friend, she really pushed me and I'm glad I took the step and I made her my PA then. I didn't
create the TV for money though, started with entertainment and the money started flowing naturally.
You need to see social media platforms as more that just a place where you come to chat.
Even if you are not doing business on it, post content that would make people see you in the right light.
Network effects are real and what you do well now can set the right foundation for your future.
WhatsApp is a closed platform (only your contacts can see what you post on your status), so for you to
grow your audience on WhatsApp, you need to give value.
People need to be able to share your links to friends, family or contacts confidently, because they know
it is worth it.
Before I started building my brand on WhatsApp I had just 67 views , but it grew to 500+ in 2 weeks +, 2k
views in few months 4.4K views in 1yr and some months. Then almost 5 years now the numbers can’t be
counted with over 10k plus views splitted across. That is the stage some of you will get to very soon and
yours will be faster because I’ll be teaching you from experience. Yours might be in less than a year to get

The key to building an Audience is by providing content. People are facing different problems and if you
create content that solves that problem, they will listen to you.
Once you create valuable content long enough and interact with your audience, you will come to find
out what they are struggling with.
At this point selling them a solution would be easier.
This is why it is Important to talk about only things that you are good at. Once people are confident that
you can deliver, then you have succeeded in building authority.
The major thing is making sure that you can actually provide the solution that you are offering.
It is even better to outsource the solution to an expert and get a commission, than to charge people and
not deliver.
The only thing that you have succeeded in doing is killing your brand.
It is the results that you deliver that would make the next stage of your brand building possible.

Consistent Content: Regularly post engaging and relevant content to keep your audience interested is
important. Once you see a trending update, you key into it and post. With that, peope will recollect
there’s an influencer that posts latest NEWS or entertainment so they begin to search for your name
everyday and it becomes a habit which increases your daily views.
Know Your Audience: Understand the preferences of your target audience and tailor your content to
meet their expectations. Not everyone likes football, not everyone likes videos, not everyone likes NEWS,
not everyone likes wallpapers etc. But for every influencer, there’s always a top thing their audience
likes, always find it out and capitalize on it. That is what your audience will know you for which will also
increase your daily views.
Consistent Promotions: Promote your whatsapp with other influencers , don’t sit around thinking your
views will increase by magic. Create a good and unique write up and link. Pay bigger influencers to
promote your Whatsapp for you and you’ll see the magic in your views(However, if you promote your
whatsapp and the content you use in bringing audience to your whatsapp is not the same content you
post, your whatsapp is liable to reduce overtime).
Consistent Collab: Whatsapp influencers usually come together to promote each other’s links
sometimes, Don’t always miss opportunities like that, especially as a new TV, it’ll boost your views faster.
You can also organize a collab amongst other TVs . All good. But beware of TVs that would use you to
build their views and not end up posting your own link or post your link for only you to view, lol.
PAY PAY PAY: Create a flier and indicate a price you’ll pay your viewers for bringing in people to your TV.
Pay people to promote your TV for you, you can start by paying your viewers 3-5k per 100 contacts they
bring to you if you have the money. Don’t forget to tell them to Use catchy thumbnails or create one for
them.
Promote Sharing: Encourage viewers to share your content with their contacts, helping to increase your
reach as well. Slow but effective.
Interact with Viewers: Respond to comments and engage with your audience to build a sense of
community around your WhatsApp TV. Veeeeeeeryyy important cuase this cannot be over emphasized.
Promote on other Social Media: Share links to your WhatsApp TV on other social media platforms to
attract a broader audience.
Timing is Key: Post content at times when your audience is most active to maximize visibility, you can’t
post contents by 3am and expect a large number of people to view it . Timing is important.
Monitor your Views : Observe how drastic your views are decreasing or increasing to correct your errors
Politely Tell you viewers to restrict you: Restriction is important while you grow your Tv. You’ll
eventually be pushed to mute people’s status or tell them to restrict you.
Don’ts
1. Don’t switch off your data; your views stop reading anytime your data is off and resumes when
you come back online. What does this mean? It means if you have 10k views and 3000 people
viewed a particular post while you were online, but another 4000 viewed while you were offline,
the 4k people that viewed while you were offline won’t reflect in your end. Sometimes they
don’t even see it at all because you’re offline. That is how Whatsapp works especially for
influencers with bigger audience.
2. Don’t buy contacts, it will ruin your whatsapp
3. Don’t scam, you’ll make more money overtime by building relationships with your viewers.
4. Don’t post too much unimportant stuffs that’ll fill your status, people will mute your status
