Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients:
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 ounces ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 jars (24 ounces each) marinara sauce
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Noodles:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the Meat Sauce:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and
egg. Mix well.
4. Assemble the Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Place 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Top with a third of the meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers, ending with meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
5. Bake:
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden
brown.
6. Serve:
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
