1 General
EGS series of pumps can be used to handle various clean or corrosive, viscosities
less than 500 cP, containing some solid particles liquids. They are applied to
substitute the reciprocating pumps and multistage centrifugal pumps in the filed of
low flow high head. They are widely applied in petrochemical, chemical, energy,
metallurgy, paper, pharmaceutical, food, environmental protection industry and so
on.
EGS pumps have the following advantages
High efficiency
EGS pumps adopt gears to increase pump speed greatly, the pump’s specific
speed is increased. With single stage design, the mechanical energy loss and
volume loss are less than multistage pumps. Thus EGS pumps still have high
efficiency at low flow high head.
High reliability
Simplified construction, small axial dimensional, easy ensured shaft’s strength and stiffness, smooth
speed increase system and good lubricating system lead to pumps’ high reliability.
Simple construction, installation and maintenance convenient
Compact design, less space occupied and high interchangeability facilitate
maintenance, conveniently than multistage.
EGS pumps are mainly divided into two parts
Gear box
Gear box is the key parts for the smooth running of high speed pumps. Gears
and shafts are made of high strength alloy steel. High speed sliding bearings
are made of lead bronze alloy, their linear velocities are up to
20m/s.
Pump end
Pump end includes inducer, impeller, diffuser, casing and
casing cover. By the various combinations of inducer and
impeller, good suction performance is obtained to decrease
the pump’s required NPSH.
Impeller is normally open or semi-open with straight-blades.
Thus high head acquired and impellers are easy to be forged
in order to increase impeller’s strength. With balance holes on
open or semi-open impeller, the axial thrusts are small. Pump
casing are mostly circular type not producing radial force.
Furthermore, the clearances limit between impeller and
diffuser/casing cover of EGS pumps are not strict as normal
centrifugal pumps. The clearances between 0.8mm and
3.5mm are all allowed.
