What is?
Pneumonia is an infection that inflames your lungs affecting
mostly the microscopic air sacs (alveoli).
Process
The function of the respiratory system is to exchange oxygen
and carbon dioxide between the body and the enviroment. This
process take place the alveoli of the lungs inhaled oxygen
moves from the alveoli into the blood in the capillaries while
carbon dioxide relocates from the blood to the alveoli to be
exhaled out of the body in the people with pneumonia this air
sacs are filled with fluid or pus hindering gas
What Are the Symptoms of Pneumonia?
Pneumonia symptoms can vary from so mild you barely notice
them, to so severe that hospitalization is required. How your
body responds to pneumonia depends on the type germ
causing the infection, your age and your overall health.
The signs and symptoms of pneumonia may include:
   Cough, which may produce greenish, yellow or even
    bloody mucus
   Fever, sweating and shaking chills
   Shortness of breath
   Rapid, shallow breathing
   Sharp or stabbing chest pain that gets worse when you
    breathe deeply or cough
   Loss of appetite, low energy, and fatigue
   Nausea and vomiting, especially in small children
   Confusion, especially in older people
Transmission
The most common routes of transmission are througth
inhalation of contaminated aerosol droplets and aspiration of
oral bactirias into lungs
Treatment
bacterial pneumonia is treated with antibiotics the choice of
antibiotics depends on the patient’s age heath conditions and
how the infection was adquired .
Viral pneumonia caused by influeza viruses may be treated
with antiviral
drugs hospitalization may be required for severe caseswith
breathing difficutly especially for young children the elderly and
those with other health problems
