High Hopes Child Care

PHILOSOPHY

High Hopes Child Care has been designed to provide quality care that will assist in developing each
child’s physical, mental, social, and spiritual skills. We strive to provide an atmosphere of love, respect,
and appreciation towards each individual child. Our home care will encourage creativity, imagination,
and self-assurance which are important to your child’s long-term development.

ADMISSION

A child will not be denied admission nor be dismissed from the center based upon race, color, religion, or
sex. The center reserves the right to deny admission or dismiss any child whose conduct is unacceptable
or behavior is disruptive and harmful to others or parents don’t follow administration protocols and
regulations.

CURRICULUM

Children get basic kindergarten preparation like colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. Reaches all learning
styles: Preschoolers need variety, so there are visual, auditory, tactual, and kinesthetic activities.

REQUIREMENTS/FEES

• A onetime registration fee of $50.00 per child.


• We require original copies of each child’s Immunization and Physical Records, which will be
updated regularly.
• Charges are based upon space, not by the child’s attendance. If a day is missed, credit will not
be given. Credits are only given if the center will need to be closed due to emergency situations
or natural disasters.
• Payments will need to be made in check or money order and they will be due on Fridays. After
Friday a $10.00 late fee will be applied per child. If payment becomes one week past due, the
child will not be able to attend and is at risk of losing their space until the balance is paid in full,
or arrangements have been made.
• All fees are non-refundable.
• Hours of operation are 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Therefore, if you or the person assigned to pick-up
your child is late, there will be a $1.00 per minute charge which must be paid by the following
day in CASH.
• ONES a YEAR… If you will be going on vacation, or if your child will be absent for a week, there
will be a fee of $70.00 to hold the child’s spot within the center. If the child will be out more
than a week full childcare rate will apply per week. Please be sure to notify the director with
two weeks of anticipation or full charge will be applied.
• HHCC won’t charge for 10 days per year staff vacation.
• Holidays will be charged as a full day.
• Weekly rates: $225 per child.
DISCIPLINE

High Hopes Child Care has the following disciplinary actions:

• All appropriate behavior is rewarded. Rewards can come in the form of verbal praise, hugs,
stickers, treats, and “good news” notes.

• All inappropriate behavior will have the following negative consequences:


1) Verbal warning
2) “Time Out” (one minute for each year of child’s age) or “loss of privileges”
3) Parents will be notified when inappropriate behavior persists.

MEALS AND SNACKS

High Hopes Child Care will provide breakfast, a snacks and lunch according to the recognized standards
by the National Research Councils recommended dietary allowances and the U.S. Dietary guidelines for
Americans. Parents of infants will provide all drinks and food.
Children CAN NOT come into our Child Care eating food from home.

BREAKFAST-LUNCH SCHEDULE

Breakfast will be served until 8:00am. Please be sure to inform the teacher if your child has had
breakfast before they arrive that morning. Lunch will be held at 11:00 am and snack at 2:30pm

LATE ARRIVALS

The child needs to be at the center no later than 9:00am. If your child is going to be arriving after that
hour, then you must wait until 1:00pm to bring them in.

MEDICATION

Our staff will not administer medication.

SAFETY PROTOCOL

At irregular life events we will ask parents to follow specific protocols to safely continue providing
services to all families, it will be your responsibility to follow them to avoid the dismiss of your child
from our home childcare.
ILLNESS

Colds, flu, and other contagious diseases seem to occur frequently and spread easily among the children.
To help protect your own child’s health and to minimize the possibility of contagion, please keep your
child at home if you observe any of the following symptoms:
• Nasal discharge that is green or yellow
• Complaint about ear pain
• Productive cough
• Sever sore throat
• Eyes that are pink, burning, itching or producing discharge
• Diarrhea or vomiting
• Fever of 100.3 or more

If these symptoms of possibly contagious conditions are observed in your child during the day, you will
be called to pick up your child immediately. When your child has a fever, please remember they must be
fever free for 24 hours before they can return to the center. This will help to ensure that the illness has
passed and that your child will be well enough to resume regular activities.

CONFIDENTIALITY OF RECORDS AND INFORMATION ON THE CHILDREN

Records and other information regarding each child is only trusted to the teachers, director, and
authorities. This information will not be shared with anyone else.

HOLIDAYS AND VACATION

We observe the followings Holidays REGULAR FEES WILL BE CHARGED

• Martin Luther King


• President’s Day
• Good Friday
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Veteran’s Day
• Thanksgiving Holiday (Thursday & Friday)
• Christmas Holiday and New Year (December 24th, 25th , 31st and January 1st )

If the holiday is during the weekend (SATURDAY OR SUNDAY) we’ll be closed the
working day either Friday or Monday.

*Our center will be closed for the following days as our personal time.
• From December 23rd through January 2nd (Just one week will be free of charge)
• We will be closed for one full week during the summer or 5 individual days during the year.
(Notification will be sent to you 8 weeks in advance in each case) these days will be free of
charge)
Notice on Returned Checks: The service fee for returned checks is $35.00. The charges will be applied
immediately. In cases where a check is returned, all future payments must be money order. I will never
redeposit a returned check. We are accepting payments by Zelle using this email:

NO TOYS, GUM, CANDY, OR VALUABLE ITEMS


We discourage children from bringing food or toys to the center. Favorite story books are accepted for
story time. Money will not be allowed, and we will not be responsible for any money or valuable items
brought to our home care.
