VICKY’S VEST KNITTING PATTERN

by vicky.knits
INFORMATION
This cropped v-neck vest is made up of two parts of back/front pieces and armhole/
neckline bands. This vest would be perfect for a relative beginner as it is easy and
quick to knit and requires only three types of stitches to complete.
Ideal for someone who knows the basics (cast off, cast on, stocking stitch, 1×1 rib)
with a little challenge.
The knitter can mix and match colours and can see progress with the vest immedi-
ately.

SKILL
Beginner/Intermediate

TIME TO KNIT
10-15 hours total

SUGGESTED MATERIALS
80m + 200g Super Chunky weight yarn
For this vest you will need one 80m + 200g ball for neckline, armhole and waist
bands.
120m + 200g for body
If you would like to use Wool and the Gangs ‘Crazy Sexy Wool’ or We are Knitters
‘The Wool’, suggested yarn quantity is 1 ball for the waistband+armholes+neckline,
1.2 balls for the body.
A pair of 11-13mm knitting needles for the body
A 10mm circular needle for the neckline and armhole bands
A set of knitters safety pins and a 10mm-25mm crochet hook for attaching the
seams.

MEASUREMENTS
ONE SIZE. Bust all around 85cm Length 44cm.

The style of this vest makes the one size fit well on sizes S,M and L. However, if you
would like to adjust the pattern to fit your size, measure your bust in cm. Then mul-
tiply by 0.8. This will give you over all required stitches for the bust of the vest, so
divide this number by two to get the stitches needed for the individual back and
front pieces. Example:
Bust measures 115cm. 115 x 0.8 = 92sts
92 ÷ 2 = 46sts
Please check the tension swatch to get the most accurate results.
Measurements for the vest are included on page 2, for if you would like to use dif-
ferent weights of yarn.
This vest pattern is written for ONE SIZE, so if you would like to use a different num-
ber of stitches, please keep in mind you will have to calculate the stitches needed to
reduce the armholes and neckline.
