3rd CNLU Cyber National Moot Court Competition
Preliminary & Quarter-Final rounds conducted virtually on March 22nd and 23rd, 2024,
Semi-Final & Final Rounds held physically at the CNLU Campus on April 6th, 2024.
Cap of 40 Teams
Initial payment- 4.5k
The top four teams qualifying for the physical advanced rounds of the competition shall be
required to make an additional payment of INR 1500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred Rupees
Only) per person for accomodation.
Cash Prize
Best Team: A cash prize of INR 40,000/- (Indian Rupees Forty Thousand Only). An internship
opportunity at Economic Laws Practice (ELP). Three (3) one-year complimentary subscription to
EBC Learning.
The runners up team in the final round of the Competition shall be given a cash prize of INR
30,000/- (Indian Rupees Thirty Thousand Only) along with a collection of academic resources.
The speaker having the highest score in the preliminary rounds shall be given a cash prize of
INR 10,000/- (Indian Rupees Ten Thousand Only) and an internship opportunity at Nishith Desai
Associates (NDA)
The participant having the highest researcher’s score shall be given a cash prize of INR 10,000/-
(Indian Rupees Ten Thousand Only) and an internship opportunity at Nishith Desai Associates
(NDA).
The team having the highest average written submission score from both sides shall be given a
cash prize of INR 10,000/- (Indian Rupees Ten Thousand Only).
The competition will be held in rounds viz., Preliminary Round 1, Preliminary Round 2,
Quarterfinal Round, Semifinal Round, Final Round.
Scoring in Preliminary Rounds
The qualification of teams to the Advanced Rounds shall be determined based on the win or loss
of the team in each preliminary round. The win or loss of a team shall be determined based on
aggregate score. The team with a higher aggregate score shall win the round.
The aggregate score of a team shall be computed as the total of—
4.4.3.1. The score of Speaker 1;
4.4.3.2. The score of Speaker 2; and
4.4.3.3. The score of the Memorial.
The win-loss shall be decided based on the aggregate speaker score. No memorial score will be
added in the quarter-final. The win-loss shall be determined based on the score so computed.

There will be a total of 6 rounds - 2 Preliminary Rounds, one Octa-Final, one Quarter-Finals, one
Semi-Finals, and the Final Round.
The Teams that qualify for the Quarter Final rounds shall be invited to the HPNLU Campus for
competing in the Advanced Rounds.

Each team shall be mandatorily subjected to both the Preliminary rounds

Day-1 (22-08-2024) ONLINE MODE - Inaugural session followed by the two Preliminary
Rounds.
Day-2 (08-09-2024) OFFLINE MODE - The Quarter finals, Semi-finals and the Finals followed
by the valedictory session.
The registration fees of Rs. 4,500/- shall be paid
10.1. Each Judge will score each Memorial on a scale of fifty (50) points.
10.2. Each Judge will score each Oralist on a scale of hundred (100) points.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TEAMS PER UNIVERSITY: No limit per university
