B.Sc. Economics Education Programme
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy B. Sc. Economics Education is centered on the Nigerian national objectives
through an indepth knowledge of human behaviour in relations to economic emancipation and
self-reliance, and the broadening of economic opportunities through well-coordinated education
of citizens. Consequently, instruction is generally aimed at the inculcation of national
consciousness and national unity, the inculcation of the right type of values and attitudes for the
survival of the individual, the Nigerian society, the training of the mind in the understanding of
the world around, the acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competencies, both mental
and physical, as equipment for the individual to live in and contribute to the development of his
society.
VISION
The B.Sc. Economics Education Programme aspires to be one of the most subscribed
programmes that develop competent economic actors and economic educators for the purpose
of promoting enabling environments for job creation and entrepreneurial drives.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to prepare high caliber and skilled social studies teacher trainers and specialists
who are equipped with the ability for developing people who will function effectively in their
chosen environments.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the B.Sc. Economics Education programmeare:
To provide avenues and or opportunities for graduates of Economic Education who have
flair for advanced knowledge in Economics Education.
To develop skilled Economic Education teachers who are equipped with pedagogical
skills for teaching Economics for the lower and higher levels of education.

Practical Entrepreneurship (ENT 302)
Course Outline (Vocational Training)
Students are expected to select a vocation among the thirty four (35) options available.
Students are incubated for three months on a particular option selected after which students
will display their products at exhibition point where assessment will be conducted on the level
of training received.
