I would like to express my gratitude on choosing me to send this letter of application to the company as
a Quantity Surveyor. I have extensive experience on estimating different infrastructure project here in
the Philippines. Aside from that I was able to construct the narrative work methodology for the
proposed project required by the Client in Bidding.
Since November 2013 I have been employed by FF Cruz as their Project Coordinator on their ongoing
project which monitor and control the Material Request if it is within the budget, then analyze the Cost
to Complete of the Different Project. Then I became Cost Control Engineer then later on Estimator for
the bidding department. Being part of Construction and Engineering Department, which handles the
bidding of the project I was trained to quantify the material of the proposed project, as well as the
necessary equipment and manpower and derived the cost for the proposed project. I was assigned also
to construct on working method of the proposed project which needed in presentation during the
clarification. As an estimator I experienced also the Coordination of different vendor to evaluate the
RFQs.
In almost 8 years, every phases/ field were new to me, though I was exposed on different areas on
bidding department I give my best and my dedication on my worked. Even every new tasked I make sure
that at the end of the day I was able to deliver it. I gave my 100% passion on my job and blessed that I
was promoted recently. I handle billions of projects on ports, and harbours, railroads, viaducts, bridges
and underground stations during tendering. Things are challenging but I believe that my interest of
learning and exploring new things that will beneficial to the company will be my weapon to be the best
employee. I also believe in team work and work ethics let the job done on schedule because its about
winning the project to provide job to those who are in need.
Being part of the Engineering Department I was trained to worked under pressure and to meet bid
submissions. In line with bidding, I was able to evaluate the specifications, employers’ requirements,
proposal writing and costing
My key skills include, but are not limited to;
Supervise and lead the estimating and qs team.
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the client;
Prepare and analyze scope of work as well as the construction method used in the prospect project
Analyze Construction Plans as well as the contracts, specifications, scope of work, and methods
payments and all necessary documents needed in formulating Detailed Price Analysis and Cost proposal
Preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required materials, labor and
equipment
Prepares the quantification of materials, labor cost and equipment cost which compromises the DPA
Coordinate with the vendor as well as the supplier for the most competitive price of the materials
needed (based on plans) & prepares quotation for materials (RFQ necessary for cost estimates during
bids)
Formulate and prepare the construction methodology according to the proposed project
Review and analyze the construction plans/drawings and coordinate with the Clients and formulate
queries based on the construction drawing provided
Create and Prepares the Narrative Construction Methodology
Estimates and quantifies materials based on Tender and Revised Construction Plan (Materials Take off)
Cost Estimates of the proposed project.
Prepare and formulate Bill of Quantity
