Discover the source of trouble with HVAC systems containing electrical, mechanical and cooling
problems.
Fix or substitute parts such as compressors, coils, fans or motors
Keep an accurate record of your work including maintenance records and repair history Follow
safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
To be aware about the new technology updates in the industry
Respond to emergency calls and provide 24 hour support for breakdowns on HVAC systems.
Run chillers, pumps, cooling towers and other equipment and make sure they are properly
maintained
Check that temperature, pressure and flow rates are at their best levels
Monitoring of alarms and alerts from Building Management System (BMS)
Undertake any other duties required to ensure smooth running efficiency of chiller plant room
Skills
Troubleshooting: The ability to diagnose HVAC systems which have problems such as electrical,
mechanical and refrigeration.
Electrical circuits, wiring and control system knowledge.
Mechanical repair: Knowing how mechanical components work for example motors, pumps and
valves.
Refrigeration repair: Capable of repairing or changing out refrigeration parts like compressors,
coils and expansion valves.
Welding and brazing: Ability to join metal parts together or fix leaks in metals such as copper.
Detection of leaks and repairs: Knowledge about detection techniques of leakage methods and
fixing them.
Control system repair: Understanding the way in which control systems work including
thermostats, relays, sensors among others. What is furnace repair? Ability to fix igniters burners
heat exchangers among other furnace components.
Air conditioning repair: The art of mending broken air conditioners by replacing worn out air
conditioning parts such as compressors coils fans etc..
Heat pump repair: Heat pump systems knowledge on installation practices;
System configuration : This implies understanding system configuration set up including
programming commissioning;
