2
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Use a 3/8” seam allowance throughout, unless otherwise stated.

Press wadding to your exterior fabric pieces.

Quilt outer pieces to add stability if you desire.

Make your tabs by folding both long raw edges in towards the middle, then folding
again. Press and sew a top stitch along both edges to secure.

Lay your zip face down with the exterior fabric face up, lining up the edge as shown in
the image. Place your lining fabric face down on top, lining up the edge with the zip.
Sew together, leaving a 3/8” gap at each end.

Fold the fabric back away from the zip wrong sides together. Press and sew a top
stitch, leaving the same 3/8” gap either end. Repeat for the other side.

3
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS

Fold out each side so the matching fabric pieces are right sides together. Sew bottom
edge of exterior pieces and lining, leaving a gap in the lining for turning.

4
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS

Turn bag so lining seam and exterior seam is centred along the zipper.

Pin back the lining fabric from the side, ready to sew the side seam closed for the
exterior fabric.

Place the tab between the layers and over the zip, facing inwards so all raw edges
meet. Sew down the side, taking care when sewing over the zip.

Trim excess zip.

Open the zip before sewing the other side!

Repeat for other side, adding the other pull tab.

Sew your lining fabric in the same way, keeping the exterior fabric out of the way.

5
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Turn your bag over so the exterior seam is facing up.

Create your boxed corners by measuring 2 1/4“ from the fold and side seams to
create a square and trim off carefully. Repeat for all 4 corners of exterior fabric.

Bring your cut raw edges together and pin and sew together. This creates your
boxed seams and gives height to the bag.

Turn bag over and repeat for your lining corners.

Bring raw edges
together, pin and sew
together to create
your boxed corners

Push corners out and turn your bag right

side out through the gap in the lining.

Top stitch lining closed and enjoy your new

bag.
