Abstract:
Employability competency can be enhanced by getting exposed to the
actual real time working environment in the industry. The industrial
skills like soft skills, life skills and hands-on should get inculcated
among a candidate to make him capable of getting employed. In plant
training is the only way, students learn application of acquired
knowledge to fulfill market demand and develop skills and
competencies required to become employable.
Taking above points into consideration we decided to undertake an
in plant training for the period of 6 weeks.
This document presents summary of in plant training undertaken by
Gulamnabi Khan, Zaheen Shaikh, Alex Chopade, Juber Shaikh, Jaydeep
Ahiwale at NACHI ELECTRONICS, Chinchwad, Pune- 019 that works in
the manufacturing of Electronics Special Purpose Machinery,

Organizational Structure of the Industry and
general layout
An organizational structure is a system that outlines how certain
activities are directed in order to achieve the goals of an
organization. These activities can include rules, roles, and
responsibilities.
The organizational structure also determines how information
flows between levels within the company. For example, in a
centralized structure, decisions flow from the top down, while in a
decentralized structure, decision-making power is distributed
5
among various levels of the organization. Having an
organizational structure in place allows companies to remain
efficient and focused.
There are various departments at Nachi Electronics;
• Designing Department
• Finance Department
• Development Department
• HR Department
• Production Department
• Quality Department
The above departments make a complete industry and work in
co-ordination with each other so as to generate an annual
revenue.
This structuring provides a company with a visual representation
of how it is shaped and how it can best move forward in achieving
its goals. Organizational structures are normally illustrated in
6
some sort of chart or diagram like a pyramid, where the most
powerful members of the organization sit at the top, while those
with the least amount of power are at the bottom.

• VMC MACHINE
Vertical Machining
Centers, also known as
Vertical Milling Machines,
create holes in flat parts.
The VMC technology is
favored when three-axis
work is done on a single
face, such as in-mold and
die works. Multiple
adjustments are available
on VMCs. For example, on
the worktable, there are numerous angles of approach and
rotating and other positioning devices. The incorporated
8
computerized controls enable automation, repeatability, tool
selection/change, and contour control. These new CNC
machines raised the productivity of the “milling” machine to
unprecedented heights, giving rise to the term VMC (Vertical
Machining Center).
What are the uses of VMC machines?
VMC Machines are chiefly used to turn raw blocks of metal like
aluminum, steel and other metal components. The most common
industrial applications of these are cutting, drilling, shaping and
molding of any kind. Industries using these processes are the
automotive, shipbuilding, machine shops, machine
manufacturing and other manufacturing industries.
• CNC Assembling Machine
The term CNC stands for
'computer numerical
control', and the CNC
machining definition is
that it is a subtractive
manufacturing process
that typically employs
computerized controls
and machine tools to
remove layers of
material from a stock
piece—known as the blank or workpiece— and produces a
custom-designed part. This process is suitable for a wide range of
materials, including metals, plastics, wood, glass, foam, and
composites, and finds application in a variety of industries, such as
large CNC machining, machining of parts and prototypes for
telecommunications, and CNC machining aerospace parts, which
9
require tighter tolerances than other industries. Note there is a
difference between the CNC machining definition and the CNC
machine definition—one is a process and the other is a machine. A
CNC machine (sometimes incorrectly referred to as a C and C
machine) is a programmable machine that is capable of
autonomously performing the operations of CNC machining.
The specifications for a CNC machine include:
• 16 bit or higher performance CPU
• AC and DC servo drive
• Driving system
• Feedback system
• Display unit
Manufacturing processes and models along with
planning, handling and control methods & Testing of
hardware and components along with quality
assurance procedures.
• 4 Pin Terminal Back Out Testing
Fixture For Wiring Harness Fixtures
are designed to test for the presence
of other connector and wire harness
components such as secondary locks
and clips. These features can be
incorporated cost effectively through
the use of switch pins that engage
the components to verify their
presence. Switch pins look similar to
spring probes. The difference is that
current passes immediately through a spring probe
upon contact, whereas the current only passes through the switch
pin when it compresses and reaches its switch point. A wire is
10
attached to the barrel of the switch pin and another is attached to
the stem coming out of the back end. The stem is insulated from
the barrel. The two come into contact when the switch pin
compresses to the switch point. The circuit closes between these
two points if the lock or clip is present. It remains open if they are
missing. The switch is wired and programmed into the test
sequence like any other circuit.
• LED NAVIGATION SYSTEM with a SCREEN
LED Navigation Systems (LNS)
makes use of optical physics to
measure the degree of the
relative motion (both speed and
magnitude) between a
navigation device and the
navigation surface. These
systems find their major
application in pointing and finger
tracking devices. Initially, ONS
entered the consumer market
through optical mice, an application in which they still
experience great success. The precision ONS provides in motion
sensing, however, has also been found to also make it a suitable
candidate for finger tracking applications. This is evident from
its widespread use in PC tablets, smart phones, digital cameras,
and remote controls.

In Nachi electronics industry the 5s Safety system:
The 5S System is a lean manufacturing tool that improves
efficiency and eliminates waste. It was first used in the
Toyota Production System (TPS). The 5S System seeks to
mitigate the factors contributing to process inefficiencies
with six areas of concern: sort, set in order, shine,
standardize, sustain, and safety. The
five steps of the 5S System are:
• Sort
• Set in order
• Shine
• Standardize
• Sustain
12
There are several challenges to implementing and sustaining
5S. Most
agree that starting small and maintaining top management
support throughout is key. Ensuring that employees have the
knowledge and resources required also contributes to the
overall success of any 5S initiative.
Particulars of practical experience in industry
Practical experience in an industry is typically most helpful
when gaining employment in a specialised role or position
that requires extensive expertise. Some industries typically
involve more technical processes than others. Gaining
employment in these industries often requires substantial
experience. It can be important to understand that gaining
experience in an industry can be beneficial, regardless of
requirements. Here are different situations where having
experience in an industry might be a requirement.
We’ve had a great practical experience at Nachi Electronics.
The staff took us to various machines..
• VMC Machines
• CNC Machine
• Punching Machine
13
• Laser Press
We were individually allowed to access machines and work
on them. Nachi Electronics has a very well-qualified staff.
And they help out each student whenever necessary.
Special challenging experience
The most challenging experience at Nachi Electronics was
the “Precision”. Being precise was very important here. If
the JOB didn’t meet the requirements we had to trash it.
Why is precision Important ?
• It helps to minimize bias and error in scientific
inquiry.
• It ensures that we are getting the correct results in
scientific investigations.
• It ensures our safety in scientific investigations.
• It is equally important as accuracy in order to have the
highest quality measurement attainable.
• It is essential, intricate, and beautiful when it comes to
components that are being used on a regular or daily
basis.
• It is necessary.
14
Rather than this we didn’t face any challenges at the industry
as their staff helped us out wherever needed.
Conclusion
At the end, after covering all the points I would like to
conclude that I had a very good experience at Nachi
Electronics. It was a good experience and we also collected
good memoirs like new friends and knowledge. The
treatment of the industry was very hospitable and
professional. This was an opportunity to develop and
enhance skills and competencies in my career field which I
actually achieved. I would like to express gratitude towards
our Industry mentor Mr.N.J Naukudkar as he helped us out
at every moment when needed. I would also like to
encourage my juniors to choose NACHI ELECTRONICS as
their internship industry as it is the best place to do the
same….
