About Sports Board
CENTRAL CIVIL SERVICES CULTURAL & SPORTS BOARD
1. The Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board (CCSCSB) is the nodal agency for promotion of Sports and Cultural activities amongst Central Government
Employees. The Board is a society registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860. It was established in 1964 as the Central Secretariat Club. The initial objective
of the Board was promotion of sports and cultural activities amongst the Central Secretariat employees in Delhi only. However, in course of time, in order to cater to the
needs of the Central Government employees located outside Delhi, Regional Sports Boards were set up in those Cities where the number of Central Government employees
was more than one thousand. At present, there are 22 Regional Sports Boards (called Central Civil Services Regional Board for Culture and Sports). The details of the

2. The CCSCSB works under the aegis and control of Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions,. Secretary(P) is the ex-
officio President of the Board. Sh. Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Additional Secretary (PP), DoPT is currently holding the charge under delegated power vide letter number
186/2/2023-24/CCSCSB dated 10.7.2023. The names of the Members of the Board as on 01.07.2024 are at Annexure-I.
3. CCSCSB in line with its aims and objective organises Inter-Ministry tournaments in 20 disciplines of sports/culture (Annexure II) in Delhi annually. In addition, the
All India Civil Services(AICS) Tournaments in 19 discipline (all the disciplines of Inter-Ministry tournaments except Shooting Ball) of sports/cultural are organised by

the Board in collaboration with States/UTs/RSBs. The allocation for holding the AICS Tournaments is decided by the Board after ascertaining the convenience and
willingness of the States/UTs/RSB. The venues of last three years AICS tournaments organised by State/UTs/RSBs are at Annexure III. Part of the expenditure for
conducting the AICS tournaments is met by the Board @ Rs.60/- per participants per day for actual days of the tournaments (including one day before and one day after
the Tournament/Meet).
4. The other activities of the Board are to organise Summer Camp, National Sports Day to tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, Half Marathon, Athletic
meet and Music & Dance Competition for Wards, Cricket Match between Cabinet Secretary XI vs Assistant Secretary XI (newly appointed IAS Officers), Run for Unity
to celebrate birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, woman sports meet etc. The Board also provides coaching facility in different sports viz. cricket, football &
lawn tennis for dependent children of central Govt. employee and various other playing facilities such as ground booking, net practice, tennis courts etc on chargeable
basis at its Sports Grounds. These activities of the Board not only provide an opportunity for a healthy competition amongst Central Government/States Governments
employees, but also help in fostering national integration.
5. To undertake these activities and to cater the needs of the players/beneficiaries, CCSCSB maintains its playing facilities/infrastructure for Football, Hockey,
Cricket, Athletics, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis etc at Vinay Marg Sports Complex. Further, CCSCSB also maintains Lawn Tennis facilities at Bharti Nagar,
Pandara Road, Brassey Avenue and R.K Puram Sec- 13. The Board also has Table Tennis court facility at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
6. To carry out its activities, the CCSCSB receives annual grants-in-aid from the Department of Personnel and Training. The Board passes one part of this aid to the
regional sports Board.
