Course Description:
The course includes comprehensive introduction to the field of TEFL along with basic
introduction of some well-known language teaching methodologies. This course offers
guidelines to help students learn everything from creating lesson plans, teaching major
components of language learning, to understanding different teaching methods etc. This
language course enables students acquire the skills they need to teach English as a foreign
language. The course also includes instructions in classroom management and lesson planning,
teaching specific skills such as: reading, writing, listening, speaking. Additionally, teachers-in
training learn how to handle error correction, and how to use aids, literature, books, and other
activities in the classroom.

Course Objectives:
The course aims to:
 make students comprehend basic concepts in TEFL
 give them an overview of well-known language teaching methodologies
 engage students in learner-centered and communicative lessons
 help students develop coherent and effective lesson plans
 make them aware of good principles and practices of classroom management
 help them teach listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing
 enable them to teach using literature, aids and technology in language classroom

Course Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students are expected to:
 have a foundation in language teaching practice
 demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts in TEFL
 create, comprehend and apply effective lesson planning techniques
 exhibit sufficient awareness of the structural, lexical, phonological and discursive
features of English as a foreign language
 learn necessary skills and techniques for effective classroom management
