MRI CERVICAL SPINE
STUDY PROTOCOLS:
SPIN ECHO T1 AND FAST SPIN ECHO T2W HIGH RESOLUTION SAGGITAL IMAGES OF CERVICAL SPINE WERE
OBTAINED ON A DEDICATED SURFACE COIL USING 3.0 TESLA HIGH GRADIENT SYSTEMS AND CORRELATED WITH
T1W AND T2 W AXIAL IMAGES.
Clinical History: Patient presented with history of pain in neck with abnormal sensation.
Current FINDINGS:
Straightening of cervical spine is seen.
C1 vertebral body show normal height and T2/STIR bright signal intensities.
C2 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at C2-C3 level show normal height and T2/STIR bright
signal intensities.
C3 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral disc at C3-C4 level shows normal height and T2/STIR bright
signal intensities.
C4 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral disc at C4-C5 level shows normal height and T2/STIR bright
signal intensities.
C5 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral disc at C5-C6 level shows posterior disc osteophyte
complex causing anterior thecal sac indentation and mild bilateral neural foramen narrowing.
C6 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral disc at C6-C7 level shows posterior disc osteophyte
complex causing anterior thecal sac indentation and mild bilateral neural foramen narrowing.
C7 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at C7-T1 level show normal height and T2/STIR bright
signal intensities.
The cervical cord is normal in morphological & signal characteristics.
Cervical canal is spacious.
No obvious CV junction abnormality is noted.
No ligamentum flavum hypertrophy or facet arthrosis seen.
Posterior vertebral osseous and soft tissues are normal. No pre or paravertebral collection is noted.
Paraspinal musculature is normal.

MRI SCREENING OF DORSAL SPINE
FINDINGS:
There is mild straightening of dorsal kyphotic curvature. The vertebral bodies and posterior elements in view are normal in size,
shape, alignment and signal intensity.
Intervertebral discs are normal in height and signal intensity.
No significant disc bulge/herniation noted.
Spinal canal is capacious. Visualized dorsal spinal cord is normal in morphology and signal intensity. Thecal sac shows a
normal CSF signal intensity.
No significant intraspinal mass or pre/ paravertebral soft tissue collection is seen.
MRI SCREENING OF LUMBOSACRAL SPINE
Straightening of lumbar spine is seen.
L1 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at L1-L2 level show normal height and T2/STIR
bright signal intensities.
L2 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at L2-L3 level show normal height and T2/STIR
bright signal intensities.
L3 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at L3-L4 level show normal height and T2/STIR
bright signal intensities.
L4 vertebral body show normal height and signals. The intervertebral discs at L4-L5 level show diffuse disc bulge
causing anterior thecal sac indentation.
L5 vertebral body show normal height and signals. Disc desiccation changes are seen at L5-S1 intervertebral disc
level. The intervertebral discs at L5-S1 level show diffuse disc bulge causing anterior thecal sac indentation.
The posterior neural arches are normal.
No obvious pre/ para vertebral or epidural collection or soft tissue mass seen.
