1.
Cyber physical systems (CPS) are engineering systems in which they use both a mix of
physical components and computation. Key features can include networked
communication which makes sure that there is a secure line of communication when
there is an exchange of data between different components. As well as real time
operation which involves cps running in real time allowing it to respond with minimal
delay in between. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected physical
objects embedded with sensors, software which lets them collect, exchange, and
analyze forms of data through the internet. There are some similarities and differences
between the two such as them both having Real time operations, Interconnected
Systems, and Sensor-based collection of data. The differences start with the varying
complexities in each system while Cps is more complex with real-time processing needs
IoT is Less complex, with a focused emphasis on connectivity and data sharing.
2. Cybersecurity for Cyber physical Systems (CPS) refers to the protection of integrated
computational and physical components from cyber threats and malicious attacks. It is
different from cybersecurity for traditional Internet or computer networks as
Cybersecurity for CPS are the Software & Hardware Constraints as Cybersecurity for
CPS makes security updates difficult due to embedded system limitations while
cybersecurity for traditional Internet or computer networks security updates are easier
with software patches and network upgrades.
