                                           EDEN’S GREEN BLOG
Hi everyone! A lot of my readers have asked about where I live. Well, for the past five years,
I’ve lived in a tiny house in the countryside. It’s around 20 m² and it’s got a kitchen area, a living room
area, bedroom area and a small bathroom with a toilet and a shower. But, the coolest thing about my
house is that it’s 100% environmentally-friendly.
I built it after reading an article about going off-grid. That means no access to the electricity and
water supplies that most homes use. How is it possible? Well, I’ve installed solar panels on the roof to
get electricity and my water comes from rain which means it’s totally free to live here.
The wood we used to build it came from an old building in a nearby village, so it had a smaller carbon
footprint than other building materials. It was difficult to find enough recycled wood and was just as
expensive as buying it new, but I really wanted to avoid cutting down more trees – even if I think new
wood looks much nicer.
Inside my home, there isn’t much room for furniture or belongings, but I can definitely fit more
things in here than I expected. To be honest, I prefer it this way! Firstly, I’m not creating a huge carbon
footprint by buying things I don’t really need and secondly, because it’s much easier to keep up with
household chores when you don’t have many things. Even though it wasn’t cheap to build it, I’ve saved
lots of money since I’ve moved in, so it seems that being green can make you wealthier, too!
I may face a lot of challenges in this tiny house, but I really love living here! Do you know
anyone else who lives a green lifestyle? Tell me in the comments.
