Tell me about yourself-

Hi sir/ma'am, I'm Dhanush. I was born and brought up in Bangalore. I hold a Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering from the esteemed Bangalore Institute of Technology. During my time at college, I
wasn't just focused on academics. I took on leadership roles, such as being the head of Industrial
Visits for 'Shilanyas,' our college's civil engineering club. This experience allowed me to bridge the
gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. I also played a pivotal role in
'Manthan,' BIT's annual fest, where I delved into sales and marketing. This involvement honed my
teamwork and communication skills. I interned with KK Civil Contractors as a site engineer intern,
where I gained hands-on experience in real-world projects. But I've always had an entrepreneurial
spirit. Even as a child, I was intrigued by business. During my undergrad, I seized the opportunity to
start a side business, fuelling my passion for entrepreneurship. Outside of my professional pursuits,
I'm an avid stock trader and enjoy analysing company case studies on platforms like YouTube. When
I'm not engrossed in the world of business, you'll find me indulging in my hobbies, such as watching
TV shows and movies. In summary, my academic achievements, leadership experience, practical
exposure, and entrepreneurial spirit make me a well-rounded candidate, eager to contribute my
skills and enthusiasm to your organization.

Why MBA?

During my internship as a site engineer at KK Civil Contractors, I had the invaluable opportunity to
work closely with two remarkable managers, both of whom held MBA degrees. Observing their
decision-making process and the holistic approach they took towards business management left a
lasting impact on me. I witnessed firsthand how their strategic decisions had a ripple effect
throughout the entire organization, positively influencing various facets of the business. This
experience piqued my interest in understanding the broader dynamics of management and the
significance of a well-rounded business perspective.

However, upon completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to focus on preparing for

engineering service examinations, as it was a long-standing goal of mine. I devoted considerable time
and effort to this pursuit, making multiple attempts to secure a service position. Despite my
dedication, I faced some challenges and was unable to achieve my initial goal.

During this period, I also explored my entrepreneurial side and ventured into starting a business. My
passion for entrepreneurship had been with me since childhood, and I wanted to turn my ideas into
reality. Unfortunately, the startup journey wasn't without its share of challenges. Despite our best
efforts, my team and I struggled to find a product-market fit, and eventually, we had to put the
brakes on the idea.

This experience was a valuable lesson in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of a strong
business foundation. It reinforced my commitment to gaining a deeper understanding of business
strategies and decision-making, which led me to make the decision to pursue an MBA.

I see this transition as a natural evolution of my career path. I am eager to build upon my engineering
foundation with the comprehensive knowledge and skills that an MBA program offers. My
experiences, both as an aspiring entrepreneur and as an engineer, have reinforced my determination
to become a successful business leader. I believe that an MBA will equip me with the tools and
insights necessary to navigate the complex and ever-changing business landscape.

I am excited about the opportunity to leverage my engineering background, combine it with the
strategic acumen gained from an MBA, and apply the lessons learned from my entrepreneurial
journey to make meaningful contributions to the business world. This decision aligns perfectly with
my aspirations and will enable me to excel in a dynamic and competitive business environment.

Why Sales & Marketing?

Choosing Sales & Marketing as my specialization in MBA is a decision rooted in my past experiences
and future aspirations.

During my undergraduate years, I had the privilege of being a core member of 'Manthan,' our college
fest, where I actively participated in various sales and marketing activities. This exposure allowed me
to understand the critical role that effective sales and marketing strategies play in the success of an
event and, by extension, in the success of any business.

My failed startup attempt taught me the importance of product-market fit and the need for effective
sales and marketing to connect with the right audience. We struggled in this aspect, and it became
evident that a deep understanding of sales and marketing strategies is pivotal for the success of any
entrepreneurial venture.

These experiences have ignited my passion for the sales and marketing domain. I see it as a dynamic
field that combines creativity with strategy, where the ability to connect with customers and convey
the value of a product or service is paramount.

By pursuing Sales & Marketing in MBA, I aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of consumer
behavior, market trends, digital marketing, and sales techniques. I am excited to hone my skills in
crafting persuasive messages, analyzing market data, and developing strategies to drive business
growth.

Ultimately, I envision myself as a well-rounded business professional who can bridge the gap
between technical expertise, effective communication, and strategic marketing. I believe that an
MBA with a specialization in Sales & Marketing will equip me with the knowledge and skills to excel
in this dynamic and competitive field, contributing to the success of any organization I become a part
of.
