Introduction

• Software that take part of the “upgrade”

project:
XPAD Survey WM

XPAD Survey Android

XPAD Construction Android

Jobs Manager
XPAD 3.0
Jobs manager

• New carousel view that shows job’s picture or

job’s map view
• When a new job is created you can
immediately take a picture of the area
• Jobs can be sorted by name or by creation
date
Jobs manager
Jobs manager

• Option to organize jobs in Sites

• Jobs can be sorted by name or by creation
date
Recovery & compacting

• Jobs can be compacted in order to improve

speed and efficiency
• Jobs can be recovered in case of damage
Memory management

• A new memory management allow to increase

the size of the data to load
• For example it is possible to load DXF files
bigger than before
Maps & CAD
XPAD 3.0
Map viewer

• A totally new map management system has been

introduced that allow:
– Select among different maps
– Connect and display to Web Map Server (WMS) maps
– Select the working area and store the maps for off-line
use
– Have a better interaction in survey
– Better performances
• Available in CAD view, Survey & Stakeout
Map viewer
Map viewer
Map viewer

• Maps that can be used:

– Google Map (default, satellite, hybrid, terrain)
– Bing Map (default, satellite)
– OpenStreetMap
– ArcGISMap
– OviMap (default, satellite, hybrid)
– OpenTopoMap
– Topo4uMap
CAD

• Explode command
• Add Text command
– Simple
– Along an object (takes the object direction)
SmartDrawing 3.0
XPAD 3.0
SmartDrawing 3.0

• SmartDrawing has been redesigned following

the most advanced systems in the market
• The main limit of the previous system was
difficult to draw multiple lines
• But it was easy to draw “complex” objects:
square, circle, rectangles
SmartDrawing 3.0

• The new system allow to:

– Manage multiple “open” lines at the same time
– Select easily the line to use
– Stop a line
– Delete a line
– Close
– Restore a stopped line
– Invert a line
– Use multiple codes
SmartDrawing 3.0
SmartDrawing 3.0

• The new system allow to define automatic

rules to increase the productivity:
– ZigZag
– Same direction
Survey codes

• A new option allow to transform AutoCAD DXF

blocks in symbols; the user can build his own
symbols library
• Option to define the symbol size
• When a code is entered manually on the
keyboard a list of the similar codes is
displayed
XPole
One pole, Two systems
XPole

• When GPS & TPS Robotic modules are active

then the XPole is available
• XPole is made by:
– A Robotic total station
– A prism 360° with 5/8” plug over
– A GNSS receiver
– XPAD 3.0 software
XPole – Free station
• To calculate the TPS
position you need some
known points
• In Free station mode you
can measure your points
with GNSS receiver and
immediately measure the
same with TPS (you need to
define a coordinate system)
• TPS position is calculated
and oriented in the GPS
reference system
XPole – GNSS site calibr.
• You are working with TPS
(on a local system) and
decide to start to use the
GPS
• With GNSS site calibration
you need some known
points
• In GNSS site calibration
mode you can measure
your “known” points with
TPS and immediately with
the receiver
XPole – Search by GPS

If prism has been lost & receiver is fixed

Station rotate automatically toward the prism

(because his position is known) and lock it
XPole – Search by GPS
XPole – Mixed survey
TPS
XPAD 3.0
TPS Multiple backsight

• In station setup a new option is available:

Multiple backsight
• Instead to calculate the station orientation
through one point only, multiple points are
used
• Average correction is calculated
• It is possible to decide which backsight points
have to be used
TPS Load/Save setup data

• Sometimes the station setup has been defined

in the on-board XPAD version and you need
to continue the job with the controller with
the same orientation (or the opposite…)
• How to share the station setup data among
controller and on-board software ?
TPS Load/Save setup data

• In XPAD 3.0 station setup data are

automatically stored in the TPS:
– Position
– Instrument Height
• A new option allow to read and use the
station setup data stored in the TPS
• Zoom80/90 only
TPS tracking mode

• Tracking mode is now active in XPAD Survey

for Windows Mobile
Zoom90 / Zipp20

• Improved the speed in some commands

– E-Bubble
– Survey points
Zoom80/90 state

• The ATR state active is now displayed; if ATR

state is active lock/unlock icon has no sense to
be displayed
TPS sets of angle

• Sets of angles command is now available

• Features:
– Define the list of points to measure (select, measure,
load from previous session)
– For each point define the target details: type, height,
constant
– Several sequences available
– Auto turn & Auto aim
– Results & Reports
– Save points list & settings for next session
Target page

• Laser pointer
Zoom90 - Robotic

• Turn horizontal
GPS
XPAD 3.0
GNSS Zenith 10/20/35

• RMS accuracy is now displayed in mm.

Zenith35 TAG

Measurement of hidden points with tilted

pole
Zenith35 TAG Dual
• Two measures are necessary with tilted pole
• Tilt up to 30° (and over)
• Use only inclinometer
• Not sensible to external elements (magnetic
fields, etc.)
Zenith35 TAG Single
• One measurement
• Tilt up to 15°
• Uses inclinometer and
compass
• Reduction of survey time
(up to 30%) because it is
not necessary to have the
pole vertical
Zenith35 TAG Single
Zenith35 TAG Single
GNSS Static survey

• It is now possible to exit from Static survey

command, continue to log raw data and enter
again to check the missing time
• It is also possible to:
– Download Z25 log raw data file to WinMobile
controller
– List/Delete & Download Z25 Rinex files
Hidden points

• A new distance meter is now supported to

measure hidden points by distances
intersection

BOSCH GLM series

GPS Simulation

• New simulation file

• Set starting coordinates
XLive
XPAD 3.0
XLive

• Allow to create working group and:

– Exchange messages
– Exchange points lists
– Exchange coordinate systems
– Exchange surveyed points
• Everything in real time
• Field-to-Field and Field-to-Office
XLive
Import & Export
XPAD 3.0
External references

• External references allow to “attach” XPAD

job files or DXF files to the current job
• Data are not imported in the job file but they
are loaded when necessary
External references

• This system allow to:

– Switch on-off external references
– Load/unload external references
– Share the same files with other jobs
– Change files content
TPS export info

• Additional information are stored for each

measure and can be exported in ASCII format:
– Lock/unlock state
– ATR state
– PPM value
– F1/F2 separated
• Export ASCII: option to customize number of
decimals just for export
DXF Import

• DXF: it is possible to select the layers to

import
• DXF: it is possible to import drawing in 2D
mode (elevations = 0)
LandXML

• Google Earth KML elevations

– Clamp to ground
– Relative to ground
– Absolute
Points list

• Points list can be sorted by:

– Date ascending, descending
– Name ascending, descending
Reports

• All reports can be exported in:

– ASCII
– Excel CSV
– Excel XML
– Adobe PDF
Reports in PDF

• PDF report can have the header customized

with user details and logo
Volumes report
• New report of Volume calculation with image
of the surface
Photo annotations

• Annotations arrows
• Free texts
• Point name and other info
