VEHICLE SPECIFIC INFORMATION:
The following information applies only to the vehicle model listed in this document. Below are multiple tips and work
arounds to assist the workshop or dealership installing a 700 series sunroof. Unique installation issues will be discussed
throughout this section. Webasto will not be held liable for damages acquired due to alterations in the subsequent repair
procedures.

Roof skin weak after sunroof installation.
RESOLUTION:
As the front portion of the roof skin ribs are removed during installation, Three braces on each side of sunroof are
recommended for additional roof structure.
TIPS:
TIP:
When routing rear drain tubes through the roof structure, insert a piece of foam as shown to prevent rattles and
to ensure the tubes continue on a downward angle.

TIP:
Rib Cap Preparation Part 1:
Cut roof opening per normal installation instructions. With exposed section of each rib, measure and cut out a
section approximately 7/16” in depth to allow for rib cap. A properly installed rib cap should fit flush with the
inside edge of sunroof opening and correctly contour the rib. Refer to the pictures below.

Rib Cap Preparation Part 2:
Before installing the rib caps, the ribs will need to be stiffened by bonding a piece of aluminum stock to the
underside of the rib (Dimensions – 8 x 1 x 3/16” / P/N: SRA0000014A). After the proper allotted drying time, the
sunroof unit should be installed via standard installation instructions. Ensure to fill any remaining gaps between
the underside of roof skin and the sunroof unit.

Rib Cap Installation: P/N: Left – SRA0000021A / Right – SRA0000020A
After the sunroof unit has been installed, apply bonding agent to exposed area (rib install location), properly align
rib cap to sunroof opening edge and install rib caps. Refer to following picture.
