History (Jollibee Foods Corporation)
Jollibee Foods Corporation was founded in 1975 by Tony Tan Caktiong. Back then, Jollibee was just an
ice cream shop located in Quezon City, Philippines. Due to the demand of people wanting to be
served with hot meals like the well known fast food chain food which is the burger along with
spaghetti, it increased their popularity allowing more people to be drawn to their business. Ever since
then, they began to just focus instead on creating a unique Filipino fast-food experience which led to
most of the Filipino’s favorite fast food chain food like the Chickenjoy and sweet-style spaghetti and it
was enough to satisfy the locals. Not only that they serve affordable and delicious meals, but they also
focused on providing friendly service which is also one of the most important things to a business
which is to build relationship with your customers to make them come back for more.
Through the years of Jollibee’s success, they expanded their branches from local to nationwide.
Jollibee Foods Corporation also diversified its portfolio by acquiring various brands like Greenwich,
Chowking, and Red Ribbon. Through this, it allowed Jollibee Foods Corporation to continue to grow
and become one of the known largest and successful fast food chain in the world.
