CRYOFUGE Specifications

Sr No. Blood Bank Refrigerated Floor Centrifuge for separation of blood components like packed cells,
platelet rich plasma, platelet concentrate, Plasma, Cryoprecipitate & Buffy Coat

1 The Centrifuge must have Wind Shielded Swinging bucket blood bank rotor with Oval metal buckets
with middle partition to hold 2 blood bags each. The Rotor must be able to accomodate a maximum of
8 X 2000ml bottles or 16 Quintuple blood bag systems of 500 ml with filters, with SGAM bag and
empty satellite bags. The Centrifuge must have the provision to be upgradeable to a rotor with 8 x
2000 ml capacity or 16 quintuple blood bag systems.

2 The Centrifuge must be able to run the 16 x 500 ml Blood Bags or 8 x 2000 ml bottles at over 3500
RPM or 5000 xg. The machine should not experience additional vibration or noise at highest speed at
4°C such that sample integrity is not compromised and life of machine components are not reduced in
the long run
3 The Centrifuge must have an automatic door opening and closing function through one touch button
operation, so that manual labor and incidents of Repitive Strain Injuries in the workplace are
minimized
4 Touchscreen operating controls that can be used with a gloved hand, and which displays both set and
actual run conditions simultaneously . User access control and security with optional password
protection,
5 The centrifuge must have memory to store over 100 programs including Time, RPM, g-force and
Temperature
6 The Centrifuge should be able to run using 230V, Single Phase, 50Hz, 32 Amps Supply
7 The Centrifuge should have the ability to automatically adjust the total Centrifugal Force accumulated
on the samples during a run irrespective of whether the rotor is run at full capacity or partial capacity,
such that results and yields are reproducible during each run
8 The centrifuge must have a Stainless steel chamber that is easy to clean and corrosion resistant with
provision of both drain and condensed water collection container
9 The Centrifuge must provide the option of a data management software which can support remote
monitoring, programming, real time tracking and data audit so as to support standard operating
procedures such as GMP Compliance and 21 CFR Part 11.
10 The centrifuge must have a drive technology that can automatically neutralize loading imbalance in
excess of 100g and must be able to detect and auto shut off the Centrifuge in case of excess
imbalance.

13 Removable plastic inserts set of 2, 4 sets, to spin quadruple blood bag system 450 ml with soft filters
and with provision to hold balancing weights at the sides of the insert so it will not come in contact
with blood bags, supplied with one set of balancing weights ,
14 Removable plastic inserts with built in hook adapter to spin quintuple blood bag system of 450ml with
filters and to spin buffy coat or small volume of blood, set of 2, 4 sets
15 Removable plastic inserts to spin double blood bags with provision to hold balancing weights at the
sides of the insert so it will not come in contact with blood bags, supplied with one set of balancing
weights , set of 2, 4 sets,
16 The Centrifuge must be able to automatically detect the installed Rotor and adjust the settings
according to its design limits so that accidental overspeeding and damage is completed prevented. The
machine must also have the provision of a Rotor Cycle counter with alarm to flag end of operating life,
such that machine is not subject to accidental fatigue failure in the long run

17 The Centrifuge should have in-built facility for User ID tracking, Run Logs, Protocol tracking and
Optional Bar Code enabled Sample tracking for full end to end monitoring and operation within
regulated environment
18 The Centrifuge must have an Integrated rotor calculator for simplifying protocol modifications and
protocol transfer from other / legacy machines
19 The machine should provide a quick-start manual, Help screens and easy on-board tutorial videos to
facilitate easy operation, standardization and maintenance
20 The machine should have the facility Electronic signatures for runs with user log-in and password
protection
21 The unit should have power saving and environment friendly operation such that refrigeration is auto
shut off when door opens
22 The Centrifuge should have flexible Timer Modes: At start, at speed, time start
23 The Centrifuge should have facility for step runs of speed, time triplets with more than 20 profiles

24 Supplied with balancing plates to compensate big weight difference, one set of 2 plates each of 35g
and 65 g
25 The Centrifuge must have optional adaptors for more than 40 microplates per run & for more than
400 blood tubes tubes (5/7ml) per run
26 The Centrifuge must have CE Class IIa Medical Device certificate for “Blood bank centrifuges for
transfusion purposes” from at least 2 Notified bodies.
27 The centrifuge must have UL and either European CE or US FDA Certification. The European CE
certificate should be from a notified body with their number
28 The machine should have EN 61010, IEC 61010 Certificates from third party
29 The machine should have provision to run up to 99 hours 59 min 59 sec (1 second increment) along
with HOLD function
30 Supplied with servo volatge stabilizer capacity 10KVA of reputed brand
31 The supplier must provide Local application, after sales support and on site training. Full Address and
contact numbers of local service engineers to be provided at the time of installation.
